The Science of Deduction, Friday

Sherlock was not alone in class today. There was the possibly familiar, much shorter man there with him. John if you really had to get technical.

"We were supposed to discuss the importance of practical knowledge of the human form, but there's apparently laws about allowing minors access to legally obtained body parts," Sherlock said, maybe acting like someone told him there was no Christmas. And not because Santa was murdered.

"So we thought we'd... bring you some slides." John was politely not letting on that perhaps being woken up at five by someone raging about 'ridiculous child protection laws' was not exactly his idea of a good time. Very politely. "Diagrams. That sort of thing. It's always helpful to have a background in this, ah, material. If you're going to be examining bodies."

He didn't rant! It was just a loud, angry soliloquy.

"I don't see how I can be expected to teach anyone properly if they're not broken of their ingrained squeamishness," Sherlock snapped.

"They're children," John shot back, frazzled as he was over having this argument for hours running now. "I'm sure they'll get to that bit in due time, but not now. Can we please move on?"

"Fine," Sherlock smoothed the lapels of his suit, taking a moment to look terribly uppercrust about this. "Enjoy your videos."

John smiled. Kindly. "And it's... nearly the holiday," he said, smoothly, "So we thought we'd bring you some sweets up front." He put down a jar of candies shaped like eyeballs.

... Why yes, he'd selected those as a replacement for the very real eyeballs Sherlock had been trying to smuggle into class earlier. John had eagle eyes.

Cally wasn't at all squeamish about the eyeballs, though she did give them a brow-crinkling look before laughing and taking one on the way to her seat.

..wait, the eyeball was candy? Ariel had one between her fingers, eying it a little skeptically, but she brought it to her nose. It smelled like candy. Didn't look like candy. Smelled like...she opened her mouth to try it, but it didn't quite make it there. She inspected it again. Again went to try it. Again gave it a second thought.

And then closed her eyes and threw it down the hatch, no turning back. The she coughed a bit, cleared her throat of the obstruction, and remembered to at least suck on it or chew on it a bit before trying to swallow.

William's candy was mostly being ignored, because he agreed with John; the documentary was fascinating.

Claudia was making faces while eating her eyeball.

Look, she really wasn't a biologist, okay? Anatomy was one of those scientific mysteries she didn't mind not knowing all about. It was all . . . sticky. And possibly still alive.

Ellie was amused more than anything by the eyeballs. She really wasn't all that squeamish either. Also, the documentary was fascinating to her. She had no problem at all watching.

He was intrigued by the eyeball candy, and more intrigued by the documentary. Fascinating.

He may have preferred the real thing to watching some box, however.

Why was the candy shaped like an eyeball? That seemed like an odd thing to do to candy. But oddly shaped candy would still be delicious so Joolushko was nibbling at her eyeball while watching the documentary. And she did find it quite interesting.

... Ew.

Rinoa was going to take lots of notes as a way to not look at the screen. At all.

Momoko had eaten weirder things, so she wasn't squeamish about taking a candy. Or two...

The documentary was interesting, and she was idly watching it, but, after Doctor Pierce's intense First Aid class, she wasn't as fascinated as she probably should be. Instead she was making doodles in her notebook and trying to decide on a costume for Sunday.

William was here! And, honestly, a little unclear on the concept of 'child protection laws' his own self. They didn't exactly have those where he was from, after all.

Bruce's body was making itself known with a persistent cough. Best not to interrupt him, probably.

Who'll hear it, if simply because he feels ilke someone should, and Sherlock's not going to do it.

I wanna be able to play on the train! It's on my desktop, so it's sadly un-portable. If I had it on the laptop, tho, I might play it at work... >.>

Though protip from other websites who have reviewed it: invest heavily in real estate and make a lot of money early on or you might be screwed later, omg.
