Library, Saturday - 10/2

Not having listened to the radio last night, Blackagar hadn't heard the news about his visitors this weekend. That might have been for the best since this meant he still went to work.

Family was important, okay!

Especially the kind that constantly tries to kill you, usurp your throne and marry your queen.

So, for now, he was re-shelving a few books that had been singing last week apparently.

"Crystal? Crystal is here? Blackagar, Crystal is here," Medusa said, sounding just a little strident. This was the worst thing that had ever happened to her. "Where is she?" she asked Maximus. "Can't you keep track of her for two minutes? She's--she's the youngest." That was definitely not why she was so worried.

Maximus just sighed, crossing his arms over his chest like the sulky teenage boy he was. "How should I know? She's the one who wanted to mingle with the humans."

Had he not been himself, Blackagar would have made a strangled noise there. Instead, he pulled out his little notepad and wrote down:

Americans, Maximus.

"Yes, exactly," Medusalith snapped. "She's the one who wants to mingle with the--Americans." Which was why she was a disaster waiting to happen. "Blackagar, we have to find her, and--and tie her to something." If Medusa had heard of chastity belts... "And I have to hide all of my shoes."

Blackagar hated his family just a little bit right now.

Putting a hand on Maximus' shoulder, he pulled the boy just a little away from Medusa. Maybe they should let her find her sister now, yeah?

"She's probably polluting the gene pool as we speak," Medusalith muttered, and shot an apologetic look at Blackagar. So much for swimming. "I have to--I have to find her."

His eyes moved just once over to Maximus to explain that he was going to have his hands full this weekend as well. The island seemed to conspire against them having a quiet evening alone.

This island. "Yes, I'm sorry, I--Maximus, it's so good to see you," she lied. "I have to go." And then she hurried off, so distracted her hair was moving quite a bit, trying to think: if she were her sister, where would she be?
