What It Takes To Be A Badass | Friday | Period 2

Loki didn't have any guests coming but he knew that some of the students did and if he could get out of teaching one day so he could go hole up in his fucking apartment, he was gonna take it.

"So, big event this weekend, right?" Loki guessed, arms crossed while he leaned against the desk. "I'm not even gonna bother with trying to teach you today. There's too much shit going on and you've got enough to deal with."

Loki had such a big heart.

"And really, I don't know if anyone can be a badass when faced with a relative or a guest or a guardian or what the fuck ever. You're going to have some slip ups, I'm fucking sure. So, take this class to sit and prepare or sit and hide or some other shit. No movie, no nothing like that. You're gonna have to go face the weekend soon enough. Have fucking fun. I'll be playing video games all weekend."

"If you truly wanted to help your worried students, you'd have given some form of distraction," Rosalind informed him. "I believe you just didn't want to teach today."

Which sounded--amused. A little.

"That is making the assumption that we find each other attractive."

Which, uh, Rosalind was so not the person to ask. To her sister's dismay.

If he wasn't a teacher, she'd have smacked him for that, it was true.

As it was, she had to firmly bite her tongue on her first scathing response which would have--most probably landed her in detention as well as be severely inappropriate to imply of a teacher.

"Somehow," she said, opting for dry dry dry instead. "I doubt that many are in the mood for play today."

"You're a teacher," she pointed out, arching an eyebrow. "Some would say that is the same thing."

She didn't believe that, of course, but really some teachers did and so it wasn't an inaccurate thing to say either.

"I'd prefer," she said, a bit haughtily, "if you actually taught your class today."

Brat! Brat brat brat!

"Funny how this week it does not appear to be a class at all," she sniffed.

Look, Rosalind disapproved of those who didn't do their jobs, okay? Uh. And it was more distressing because she actually enjoyed Loki's classes.

"Learning something would be better than giving the class another hour to panic about their families. By this point, there will be no brilliant ideas. Giving them the extra time to freak out is cruel."

She drew herself up, wrapping dignity around her like a cloak.

"I am disappointed in you," Rosalind said crisply. "As you are one of the few I enjoy being taught by, this is most displeasing."

She doubted he'd care, but she felt better and turned to go.
