As if her excitement over the first meeting of the Glee Club wasn't enough, there had to have been unicorns. Ariel barely had time to set up, what with the back-and-forth that kept happening between here giggles. She had such vivid hair, but the unicorn's was so soft! She had a lovely singing voice, but the unicorn had such dazzling eyes. So it was a good thing there wasn't much to set up. And then people started showing up.

"Hello, everyone!" Ariel greeted them brightly. "Welcome to our first Glee Club meeting! Now, I know I got a chance to talk to some of you at the Fair, but those of you who I didn't, you'll know that Glee Club is basically a club for getting together, singing songs, and having a good time. I'd like to perform on occasion, too, especially a big show at the end of the year, but that's not important right now. We can get into all that later. Right now, you should all have prepared a song that you feel works as a good way to introduce yourself! Much better than boring old 'Hi, my name is...' introductions."

"NEIGH!" said the unicorn. "You are so clever and thoughtful."

Which sent Ariel giggling a little and nodding to the unicorn. "Thank you. And you are very wise and perceptive! Anyway, if you didn't prepare a song, that's okay, too! Maybe you'll think of one on the fly, or, if not, you don't have to perform. This is a club about fun, and if you're just not feeling it, then that wouldn't be any fun, but hopefully you can have fun singing along with others."

"Any questions? If not, let's go ahead and get started! And, next week, since this week is parent's weekend, keep an ear open for song to sing that might express how that was for you! And let's not forget to give a big thanks to Mister Deadpool and Master Skywalker for being our advisors. They're really awesome for doing thing!"

"NEIGH!" the unicorn turned happily toward them. "You are so tolerating!"

"Let's get this show on the road!"

"Oh, that had to smell lovely," Ariel commented, but she wasn't too terribly surprised. She did watch him as the unicorn approached, though, and felt it necessary to comment, "No setting the unicorns on fire, though."

As if she was one to talk.

//No setting th'unicorns on fire,// Jono agreed, even if the dirty look didn't let up. Now he was letting go of his guitar with one hand just long enough to give it a gentle shove against the muzzle. He didn't want unicorn snot on his strings, thank you. //Tempting though it might be.//

"Neiiigh! You have excellent taste in guitars! Hendrix loved Fender Stratocasters!"

...

//Less tempting now, granted.//

Ariel grinned. "I don't think I understood half of that," she admitted, "but I told you they're not so bad."

//... Next Tuesday, I'm introducing you to th'music of Jimi Hendrix,// Jono replied. And that was said with an air of finality about it. No, there would be no wiggling out of that fate, Ariel. //He's bloody legendary.//

In fact, even if his guitar wasn't plugged in just yet, he was going to take a moment to pick at his strings a bit, just to give Ariel the few opening notes to All Along The Watchtower.

Oh, yes, and it was such a trial, too, having to listen to music Jono recommended. But she could be strong and bravely face her fate.

"I like it," she said after a moment of just settling back and listening and watching Jono's fingers move. "But even when you try to lead me astray, I've enjoyed what you put out."

Oh, don't say it, Jono. The first words that come to mind, really, don't say them.

//Well, I hate to be th'sort who disappoints whenever he puts out, luv.//

Oh, Jonothon.

"I never suspected you would be," said Ariel, but, once she'd said it, a thought ticked the back of her brain and her head tilted and she couldn't help wondering if...

...nah. Couldn't have been.

"NEEIIIIGH," a unicorn offered, "you're still so innocent."

Please, Ariel, don't mind that sudden silence that Jono has been thrust into, bent forward over the top of his guitar with his eyes closed and his shoulders bunched up a little. That's just his equivalent of a laugh. And he means it in the nicest way.

//The unicorns can stay,// he decided, a moment later when he straightened up again.

Oh, sure he did. Ariel's eyes narrowed a little before they shifted over to the unicorn, who looked up at her with sparkling happiness, and she could only mutter, "Traitor."
