Glee Club, Music Room, Thursday Afternoon [ 09/30 ].

As if her excitement over the first meeting of the Glee Club wasn't enough, there had to have been unicorns. Ariel barely had time to set up, what with the back-and-forth that kept happening between here giggles. She had such vivid hair, but the unicorn's was so soft! She had a lovely singing voice, but the unicorn had such dazzling eyes. So it was a good thing there wasn't much to set up. And then people started showing up.

"Hello, everyone!" Ariel greeted them brightly. "Welcome to our first Glee Club meeting! Now, I know I got a chance to talk to some of you at the Fair, but those of you who I didn't, you'll know that Glee Club is basically a club for getting together, singing songs, and having a good time. I'd like to perform on occasion, too, especially a big show at the end of the year, but that's not important right now. We can get into all that later. Right now, you should all have prepared a song that you feel works as a good way to introduce yourself! Much better than boring old 'Hi, my name is...' introductions."

"NEIGH!" said the unicorn. "You are so clever and thoughtful."

Which sent Ariel giggling a little and nodding to the unicorn. "Thank you. And you are very wise and perceptive! Anyway, if you didn't prepare a song, that's okay, too! Maybe you'll think of one on the fly, or, if not, you don't have to perform. This is a club about fun, and if you're just not feeling it, then that wouldn't be any fun, but hopefully you can have fun singing along with others."

"Any questions? If not, let's go ahead and get started! And, next week, since this week is parent's weekend, keep an ear open for song to sing that might express how that was for you! And let's not forget to give a big thanks to Mister Deadpool and Master Skywalker for being our advisors. They're really awesome for doing thing!"

"NEIGH!" the unicorn turned happily toward them. "You are so tolerating!"

"Let's get this show on the road!"

Musically, of course.

There's sodas and water, but Ariel has actually passed up her usual junkfood tenancies for things that seemed better suited for singing, like fruits.

And, okay, cookies. You had to have cookies. Either way, she figured everyone might like to munch while settling in before performing, and the unicorns were sure to compliment your palette.

Step on up and perform your song for introducing yourself! No one is really sure how this manages to work, but there will be music and others who feel inclined to join in should! And then everyone can chat about the song and get to know you better through it.

Or something. Dancing? Also completely allowed and encouraged.

Sure, why not? Everyone's song is sung, but no one's in a hurry, right? Maybe you can even get together and make plans for next time.

Who is certainly hoping for a success, especially after the unicorn confirmed that she has done a wonderful job.

Be sure to thank them once they ping in. Preferably in song. They'll love it!

If Medusalith looked nervous, it had nothing to do with being expected to sing, even though she totally didn't have a song prepared because she didn't know anything about human music. It was because she still didn't know whether these people expected Blackagar to sing and kill them all or not.

The unicorn reassuring her that she was beautiful and had gorgeous hair wasn't really helping, because it had been doing that all day and she was starting to worry it might slip in 'you're doing a great job of pretending to be human!' or something.

Jono did not feel like mingling today. And Jono did not feel like chatting today. Jono was dreading the influx of guests to the island tomorrow, skulking about on the far end of the music room, clinging to his guitar, and resisting the urge to kick every happy friendly thing that approached him in the face.

"NEIIIGH! You have so much self-control!"

Yes. Still resisting.

Alexander still wasn't quite certain if joining this club was a good idea, but he had missed all that singing like a pirate, so it seemed a fairly nice alternative.

"Yellow is a wonderful color on you," a unicorn offered as he sipped his soda.

"Er, thank you."

Quinn sipped water and projected absolute calm. Whether she actually felt calm or not, she believed, was beside the point; the point was that she was not going to let anyone there see that she was nervous.

Not that she was nervous. Of course.

"You're going to do a great job!," the unicorn told her. "You might not have the best range ever, but you sing with so much feeling! And you can always dance."

That didn't help.

Jonothon did not sing. Jonothon was not entirely certain how he had managed to get talked into this in the first place, but that one fact, that he didn't sing, was going to never change.

Which was why he had taken a moment to set up his guitar and amp, instead. Granted, the music room likely had all of those things, but this was his guitar (and it was a Fender Stratocaster and if anybody touched it they would die in a horrible ball of flame) and his amp, and so he felt, somehow, that using his own equipment was somewhat like the equivalent of using his own voice, if you squinted.

... Really, was anybody surprised that Jono's song of choice today was Pearl Jam's Alive ?

It was distinct enough that maybe, on the off chance that there were a few fans of 90's grunge in the room, perhaps somebody would be able to fill in that vocal void where his own voice couldn't be. And the lead guitar was interesting enough that he could perform it solo without worrying about the lack of other instruments filling it in.

Win-Win.

Well, no point in putting it off. Alexander felt his song wasn't exactly the best for Ariel's 'assignment,' but it was one he felt revealed at least the most important part of his heart, and so he was going to go for, went up to a mic, cleared his throat, and sang (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59cvtzhkoUQ).

Not too shabby, really. The unicorn seemed to think so, anyway.

Ellie was still feeling a bit gloomy about the upcoming weekend, so mingling was not something she was especially in the mood for.

"You have such a pretty smile!" a unicorn said, interrupting her thoughts.

Of course, that compliment was enough to get her to actually smile.

Blackagar Boltagon

Blackagar was partaking in the cookies and water while the unicorn following him around continued to ramble.

"You have so much self control!" it neighed, prancing around. "And are so much nicer than Dan Humphrey!"

"Well, it's right," Medusalith said, and took a delicate sip of the strange, overly sweet human fizzy drink. "You are much nicer than Dan Humphrey."

That would be why he picked the water! No distressing chance of burping from that.

And her's seemed to note how lovely her hair really was as well. That was always kind of them.

But... where did those rainbows come from?

Instead of killing everyone by trying to sing, Blackagar stuck to the musical basics. In this case, it meant the drums!

He closed his eyes and nodded before slowly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wR9GiA7Hg_A&feature=related) starting up a rhythm for his cousin ~~totally cousin~~ to work off.

Quinn's song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afJYUwxG3tY) was something she'd memorized for a cheer workshop as part of a choreography exercise. As such, the singing was a bit beside the point -- but she sang it more than well enough, and she had the words and the little gestures that went with them down cold, not to mention her smile.

All that she was missing was her back-up singers and dancers.
