Macro-Tactics, Monday
"Today, we're back to a little hands-on work," Kerrigan said. The Danger Shop had been set up as... a hallway with four identical doors, this time. "I want you to form up as pairs. One of you takes a black box, the other a white," and she waved two small, also identical boxes around. "Pressing the right side will put down a pawn. That's your footsoldiers. Pressing the left puts down a tower-- archers, riflemen, snipers, whatever you want to call it."
She tossed one of the two to the first student she laid her eyes on.
"Behind these doors are four different kinds of terrain. You will pick a door without knowing which. You will then both walk into opposite directions for five minutes, while assessing your environment. Then you will deploy your 'troops'."
Her lips widened in a not entirely genuine smile.
"The computer will determine which one of you would 'win' by most fortuitous troop placement alone," she said, "Though it's not going to tell you. I want you to come back out, fire up one of the computers over there, and look over what you did in birds' eye-- figure out what you did, what your opponent did, and how fucked you are. Now, go."

Listen to the Instructions

Re: Listen to the Instructions
Who was going to use her telepathy against her classmates? EMMA. Of course.

Re: Listen to the Instructions
You went to Glacia. Without me. And you didn't bring me anyone to 'play' with as a souvenir.. No, Emma was NOT talking to Karla, as evidenced by the lack of telepathy. She also wasn't sulking. Shut up. I'm beginning to think you don't love me anymore.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
their teacher was an alien telepath who'd be happy to listeningEmma was mad.I didn't see anyone for you to play with! We met up with seven of Morton friends in a cabin in the woods. Other than the family at the Hall, I didn't see anyone else!
This was true! She was gone by the time the cabin had been invaded.
Though Morton will be here for PW, so you can play with him then? You know I do love you. Tons.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
This was Emma's 'you are a lying liar who lies' face right here, Karla. And it's aimed at you.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
She was underlining for emphasis. Surely, that must convince even Emma of her sincerity.
Morton brought me to Glacia to prove to a few males I wasn't dead, like Hobart's been saying. I talked to them, tried not to smack one specifically, and then Ben hustled me out of the cabin when he sensed people nearby. That's all!

Re: Listen to the Instructions
Her newfound decision to be nicer to Morton did not extend to NOT throwing him under a bus when the situation called for it.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
I can't believe you didn't take more back-up, or let us know where to go and who to hurt if you weren't back by today.
Although in all fairness, if Karla hadn't shown up for class today, Emma would have found a way to show up on the doorstep of the Hall and pitch a fit until someone told her what was going on. It wasn't as if she hadn't had options.

Still not getting off the hook, Karla.
Which one is Kaelas?
Re: Listen to the Instructions
Karla found him absolutely adorable.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
Pot. Kettle. Whatever.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
...If you ignored the sheer potential for death-dealing, of course.
Re: Listen to the Instructions
Honestly, Karla. THAT WAS NOT A KITTEH!
Re: Listen to the Instructions
Karla's response wasn't written. She just glance backwards and looked at Emma, hurt.

But yeah, strategic troop placement, Cloud could do that, surely. Fort Condor had taught him enough strategy, or so he hoped.
