Classic American Film, Thursday, Period 4

"Good afternoon," Ziva said, greeting the class once it seemed like everyone was there. The desks were still in the classroom, but there were more comfortable chairs and beanbags on the floor as well, in case anyone wanted a nicer seat in front of the television screen.

"The first film we are going to watch together is one that some people might not consider a classic. Olympia is not a terribly old film at all, but it was an extremely successful film, and it deals with a real event that actually took place in American history. Therefore, I thought it would be a good place to start our class. First, we will watch the movie, and then we will have a short discussion. Does that sound good?" Without waiting for an answer, Ziva clapped her hands. "Wonderful, let us get started."

Bod grabbed some popcorn and settled down into a seat to watch the movie. Love stories weren't his absolute favorite genre of film but he'd give anything a chance.

Quinn had seen this movie approximately 500 times, but she didn't mind seeing it a 501st. It had a hot guy, and it always made her daydream about being Rose.

Sara settled in to watch the movie, thinking that she did not in the least regret taking this class.

Until she realized that not only were the two leads actually going to do that, no matter how improper it was, they were actually going to show it in the movie.

It was somewhat tragic that the girl who had started out the movie so enraptured by the story ended it in a high state of indignation.

Honestly.

Don't mind Firekeeper, she was going to spend the entire film looking rather queasy. Not because of the love story, but rather because the entire thing took place on a boat. Ugh.

Blind Seer, for his part, was silently laughing at his friend's discomfort.

Harper never got tired of this movie. Even if she knew what happened at the end, she still had tears running down her face in the final minutes.

The movie was sappy. George tuned most of it out, instead wondering if she knew anyone who had been on the Olympia when it went down.

(Shame she hadn't met Penny yet.)
