Anakin walked into his classroom precisely on time and gave the students assembled there an appraising glance-as the door clicked shut behind him. "I'm Master Anakin Skywalker," he said in a voice that was intended to carry. "You may address me either as Master Skywalker or Professor Skywalker. This is Ethics, and we're going to skip the introductions--I'll figure out who you are, if I don't recognize you already--and move straight to our first discussion."

His cloak flared out behind him as he handed out the syllabus. "Today's topic," he said, pointing to the top of the page, "is self sacrifice: knowing the difference between saving people and being a pretentious twit."

Anakin wasn't a great believer in softening his language.

"Any time I ask a a group of people what they would do to save someone they love, they blither on about how they would set the world on fire, lie, cheat, steal, kill, die, et cetera, et cetera. I've been at this school five years now and realize that half of you have probably already been put into this situation. I'm never in a mood to hear adolescent ramblings about how wonderful you were or might hypothetically be."

He leaned back against his desk. "What I want to know is what would make you walk away. When do you decide that the risk isn't worth the cost?"

"Since the beginning of summer," she said. "I really like it here."

"It sure is", even when things were still...shaky. "There is a lot to learn of everyone."

"Most of the people here are pretty nice," she said with a smile. "If you need assistance with anything, I'd be happy to help you."

She nodded and smiled at her. "I will be sure to let you know if I need anything...and if you ever need help, I will be happy to help, too."

Cassidy grinned back. She was always fond of making new friends. "I will definitely keep that in mind. And hey, you always have a study partner for the class if you ever need one. I have this thing about books and notes."

Zatanna didn't know how a regular high school was supposed to be, but she was sure it couldn't get better than this. "Hey! I'm totally into notes and books too! And magic, but that's more like the family business. We should totally study together."

Considering that Cassidy had never even heard of high school before she came here, she was really enjoying the experience.

"Oh! Are you a witch, too? I'm always working on my Craft when not reading or studying."

"You too? Awesome! I've never heard of Craft; we should share some magic knowledge some day. I'm in room 407 with Elphaba, drop by any time you want."

"Oh that is really great," Cassidy said, her eyes shining with excitement over meeting a new friend who was also a witch. "I'm in room 203."
