Ash's Art Appreciations, Lecture #4

*Ash stands in front of the classroom, scribbling notes on his clipboard until all the students settle in*

Alright, last week's lecture was a bit of traumatic experience for everyone, so today, I've prepared a special slide show.

*Dims the lights, and puts on a "Best of Cake" CD, and starts up the Slide Projector. The slide show is a series of photographs of puppies, small children, women in bikinis, rainbows, women in bikinis with guns, kittens, and flowers*

*After the presentation, he turns the lights back up, and shuts off the music*

Alright, the discussion topic: "Is Photography Art?"

Go ahead and duke it out, kids.

"Who? Crane? I don't know. Does he have the grey matter to put this kind of thing together? I don't want to make any baseless accusations."

"Yeah, he does," she practically whispers. "And he works in the clinic, supposedly as a psychiatrist-type. You have to ask yourself who would want to make people hallucinate their greatest fears? Someone who wants to punish someone else, perhaps, but the group was too random for that. Why risk detection by introducing so many people to the gas? Or someone who has another interest in seeing the results...

He's a nice guy, though. I mean, he has been to me. I don't know that much about him...

He is certainly more than capable if he put his mind to it. And he has access to the labs like I do. Ask Ms. Sidle if she has an inventory, so that you can determine if the gas came from the lab, first. I have no real evidence that he did anything. But... it fits. It fits. Jesus."

Marty nods. "Yeah well... I know next to nothing about the guy. These guys? They covered their tracks pretty well. Any evidence was thrown out the next day in the garbage trucks. The guy who dropped the vial? Total numbnut. You basic patsy. Honestly? I'm wondering if that was just a test drive."

"Look... don't tell anybody else about this. I doubt he left a trail behind him, but I've got some other people I need to talk to before I can confirm anything. I already have some other people asking questions about this so don't be surprised if you're approached. Tell them that I already talked to you about it. Okay? I already have someone following up with Sidle and I'm talking with Grissom later."

"I like all my limbs where they are, believe me, my mouth stays shut. Look, we are having a Science Club meeting tomorrow, if you want to stop by feel free. Just try not to sing the theme song to Dragnet."

She smirks.

"And be careful, okay? Wouldn't want someone to mess up your hair," she laughs, but shows her honest concern in her eyes.
