Ash's Art Appreciations, Lecture #4

*Ash stands in front of the classroom, scribbling notes on his clipboard until all the students settle in*

Alright, last week's lecture was a bit of traumatic experience for everyone, so today, I've prepared a special slide show.

*Dims the lights, and puts on a "Best of Cake" CD, and starts up the Slide Projector. The slide show is a series of photographs of puppies, small children, women in bikinis, rainbows, women in bikinis with guns, kittens, and flowers*

*After the presentation, he turns the lights back up, and shuts off the music*

Alright, the discussion topic: "Is Photography Art?"

Marty smiles. "Not a problem. But you were in town that night, right? Were you in Spike's pub at all?"

Callisto shrugs, "Yeah, I went into town after the Newspaper Crew meeting. Never went to Spikes though. Haven't been there more than once, and that was weeks ago."

"You wouldn't have happened to run into those two clowns outside of the kwik stop that night would you? You know the ones who are always trying to sell dope. One guy never talks and the other just spews swear words right and left?"

"Kwik stop, kwik stop." Callisto frowns. "I passed by there earlier in the afternoon. I ran into the blond, Jim? Jan? I didn't stick around though. Crude offers of sexual congress are not what I consider good conversation."

"Really. That's interesting, because you know that blond guy is the one who released that gassy cloud thing that made everyone freak. Did you know that?"

"No, I didn't know that." Callisto shakes her head. "Wouldn't surprise me though, the reason I only went to Spike's the one time was because of that man's behavior."

"Yeah... you know what I have a hard time believing thought? That he was able to make or buy such a dangerous thing. Gas like that? Probably took a couple of months of tinkering to make. And you should have heard the story they told about how they got it."

"Never underestimate the ingenuity of fools." Callisto cocks her head to the side. "Really? Do tell."

"Those two? Please. They're still wearing zips because they can't tie their shoes." Marty says as he pulls out his notepad and flips through it.

"No they said that some girl from school gave it to them. Let me read the description to you:"

*Does Jay impersonation*
"Look, I didn't get the bitch's name. She's about this high," he motions about at his shoulder, "long blonde hair. She was wearing this crazy ass leather get up too. She was HOTT, too. I totally coulda fucked her if I wanted. But, you know, gotta leave some for lard ass."

Marty looks up at Callisto and then back down at his notebook.

"Hey! That's a description of you!" he says in amazement.

"Blonde and leasther?" Callisto raises an eyebrow. "That describes a good portion of the female population of this school."

"True. Then again they also confirmed it was you when I showed them one of our old campaign posters."

Marty holds up his hand before Callisto says anything else. "Look as far as I'm concerned? You saved the town when you decked Beeblebrox. I'd consider that a wash. My concern? Is where that vial came from. I'd hate for someone to pull that again anytime soon... with worse results. Get what I mean?"

"Speaking purely hypothetically," Callisto starts fiddling with a piece of paper. "If I was involved in that debacle, do you really think I'd say one word about who else, if anyone, was involved with it?" She finishes fiddling with the paper and holds up a small origami bird (http://img379.imageshack.us/img379/6339/crane022no.jpg).

"Hypothetically? In the old days I probably would have killed off the delivery guys before someone would have questioned them and then gotten out of town. You don't want to give anybody up? That's your choice."

"But something to keep in mind? Spike is pissed. Enough so that he filed a police report and may have those brothers who work for him start doing their own investigation. Now if I can get this far just by pointing a gun at Jay's crotch, what do you think they'll find out when they start beating the crap out of them? Of course I could also forget that you saved the town and tell what I know to Dean Bristow, Red, the FTPD and Spike. But I just hate being a narc."

((OOC: Crap... I forgot to make this whole thread NFB. I'll make sure to leave a note for the pirate.))

"What that a threat Marty?"

Rolling her eyes, Callisto draws Marty's attention to the paper bird (which looks remarkably like a crane) again.

((OOC: *Face_Palm* Would you believe I make about a dozen of those a day out of old post it notes? I need to get more sleep. My brain is liquifying))

Realization crosses Marty's face as he picks up the origami bird. "You know what Callisto? I shouldn't be threatening anybody. You saved the town and who am I to believe a drug dealer who isn't smart enough to blow his own nose. Forget I said anything.

Callisto smiles at Marty. "Already forgotten. I hope you uncover the perpertrator soon."

[OOC: *whimpers* But if I sleep then I miss stuff and the pirate doesn't tell me everything and I like totally missed half the dorm sleeping with each other the other night and I- *rambles on from there*]
