Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

More tables and chairs had been set up further out on the lawn, where there weren't as many trees. That meant there wasn't as much shade either, so these tables had more fans on them to make up for the difference. Still, it was bound to be quieter over here than closer to the main area.

Ariel giggled, yet again not disappointed in the reaction that the talking seemed to garner. "It's all pretty complicated," she admitted. "I was under a curse, you see, but it's all better now."

Robin gasped. "A curse? Wow! But you're okay? I'm glad. I'm glad you're back too, I'd heard you'd left."

"More than okay," Ariel assured her amphibious friend with a nod, and she would have been more cheerful about it if it weren't for that last part, which just got her worried.

"What all did you hear?" she asked, wondering exactly how many different stories there'd been...

"Not really any details. Just that you had to leave. Was it to get the curse removed?"

"Yes," Ariel said, breathing a sigh of relief that the details were slim. It wasn't exactly true, but it was so complicated, anyway, that it just made more sense to accept it. "Isn't it great? Got it taken care of just in time to get back for the next semester and the welcome picnic!"

"Umm, I'm not sure," Ariel admitted. "I only got back this morning! Are there any you'd recommend?"

"I've never been outside of the US." Robin admitted. "Well, I have been to an other planet."

"Really?" asked Ariel. "Which one?"

"It was called Endor. I went with a lot of other people to help rebuild a village."

"Oh it was really pretty! Huge trees, I mean, bigger than almost anything on Earth! The village was actually up in the trees!"

"I've never been in a village in the trees before!" Ariel remarked with a laugh. "Good thing you weren't afraid of heights."

She was assuming that he wasn't afraid of heights, anyway.

Robin totally wasn't afraid of heights. He found them exhilarating actually. "Oh, yeah that would have been hard. But then if I was afraid of heights I probably wouldn't have tried hang gliding or taken any of the flying workshops."

"I'm not sure how I'd handle something like flying," Ariel admitted with a chuckle, "but it would sure be fun to try."

"Oh it's great! But it's best to start with the simulator." And not jump off the roof with an improvised hang glider if you don't want to get yelled at by your friends.
