Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

It might have been the start of the fall semester, but it was definitely still summer in Fandom. The sun was shining and the temperature was already starting to get high, even as the NPC crew set things up for the day.

Luckily, the school knew how to take care of folks on days like today. Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with cold drinks and food, and an entire section devoted to offering up different ~~moddable~~ ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

With everything set up and the crew out of the way, it was time for the picnic to begin!

He was pretty sure the world could only handle one Raven, from what he'd heard. But he'd seen enough alternate worlds to consider it possible.

"Could be. The day the multiverse makes sense is the day superheroes aren't needed."

Kon didn't even have to think about that one. Raven may have been forced to do some things she didn't want to, but there was no doubt where her loyalties lay.

"Nah, she was a hero through and through."

Raven let out a sigh of relief and relaxed, her smile returning. "Thank you," she said. "That is good to hear."

She studied Kon's outfit, remembering how he had said he had met Superman. "Are you acquainted with many superheroes?" she said. "I have met several." Most of them didn't like her much, but she wasn't mentioning that part.

Kon reached out an arm and threw a friendly arm over her shoulder, more for reassurance than anything else. "Don't mention it. I'm sure you're every bit as awesome of a person."

He wasn't exactly hiding the fact that he was a clone, buy he didn't want people to look at him and see Superman, so he chose to leave that part out for the moment.

"I've pretty much been around them my whole life," All two years of it. "I'm on a team of them right now, actually."

Raven was a little started by the physical contact, but since she invaded people's personal space all the time, she wasn't exactly put off by it. "It is nice to meet another person from my world" she said. "There are several of us here now: myself and Tim and Jason, and Dinah, but she just left the island. What team are you on?" She paused, then added, "And I would like to know more about these Teen Titans, if you will share with me."

Raven didn't seem to be put off by his arm, so he kept it there for now. He was a little surprised to hear about the world thing though, although that would explain William.

"This school takes people from multiple worlds? Cadmus forget to mention that," But then again Cadmus pretty much threw him out and told him to go here. "I'll have to meet these people, then." He knew Tim, of course, but he promised him he'd keep his identity secret.

He wasn't exactly sure how much to tell Raven without talking to Tim first, but he'd say what he could for now.

"We're called Young Justice. I couldn't ask for a cooler bunch of friends," He smiled at Raven reassuringly. "Anything you want, Rave."

"Fandom seems to be a nexus for many different worlds," Raven said. "There are people from alternate version of the same world, as well as those from the future or the past, or from different planets entirely. There is much I must tell you about what to expect from the island." Alternate universe children, genderswap days, gremlins, squirrels with notepads...the list was long.

"I fear I am not familiar with Young Justice," she said thoughtfully. "I was not raised on Earth, so I am not entirely well versed in the superheroes who dwell there. Who else is on your team? Are you related to Superman, since you emulate him in your dress? And who else is a member of these Teen Titans?"

She smiled ruefully and shook her head. "I am sorry, I have so many questions for you, and you must have questions of your own. I am here to help you in any way that I can."

Well that explained Raven, at least. He should probably be careful not to change the future or something. At least one of the Bat clan would probably punch him in the face if he did. With Kryptonite.

"Sounds like one hell of a party." This place was gonna be more interesting than he thought, at least.

"We're pretty new, don't worry about it. It's me, Impulse, Wonder Girl, Secret, and formerly Arrowette." He wasn't going to mention Robin. He was an "Urban Legend" after all.

He didn't want to mention too much about the Superman thing and settled for, "You could say that. Let's see, the Teen Titans. I think the ones you'd be interested in would be Robin, Starfire, Kid Flash, Cyborg, Wonder Girl, a different one than mine, and Beast Boy. And Speedy joined up later."

It couldn't hurt to mention their code names, right?

"Nah, ask away, pretty Raven. You'll just have to make it up to me with a private tour."

Raven made a mental note to ask Dinah it she knew anything about these Teen Titans. It was exciting to think that she was a hero and not a villain that that boy on the roof had claimed she was. Some of the names were familiar to her from what she knew of Earth's superheroes, but others like Starfire were a mystery.

"Of course," she said, totally missing any innuendo. "I would be most happy to give you a tour of the island. It can be a strange and dangerous place, but a wondrous one as well. Do you know what room you will be living in yet? I am on the fifth floor, in room 509, and you are welcome to visit there whenever you like."

Open invitation to Raven's room? Score! This was most definitely a good day.

"Room 314, I think it was. You and your fine self can stop by anytime." Especially nighttime, but he'd keep that to himself for now.

"I am certain I will be by frequently to check up on you," Raven said. "And perhaps tomorrow I can start to show you things. What would you like to see first? I will show you whatever you wish."

It was a good thing she was a pacifist (and not good at picking up innuendo), or she'd end up slapping Kon some day.

"Can I see your bountiful tracts of land?" Innuendo, what innuendo? "I mean they're just so big it would be easy to get lost without a guide."

Kon was probably going to be a frequent visitor to Raven's Netherverse.

"Certainly," Raven said. "The preserve is very beautiful, and I would be most happy to show you. I often go there to meditate. I can show you the most private places."

Oh, Raven.

It's like all the work was being done for him.

"I'll bet it is. It would be fun to lay on the hills, don't you think?" Nestled right between the two largest peaks, of course. "Do I get to plunge deep into the tight caverns?"

"There are some caves by the beach," Raven said, smiling as everything continued to go riiiiiiight over her head. "I have never explored them myself, but I can show you them."

"So we can enter the wet caverns together?" Kinky. "You're never explored the cavern before? Don't worry, we'll be sure to explore them thoroughly."

"I have never had need to," Raven said. "I have never been curious enough to do so."

"Oh trust me, entering caves is awesome," Oh yeah, he was having too much fun with this. "Once you're in you'll never want to be anywhere else. You'll just do it again and again."

One day Raven might understand everything Kon was saying. But it was not this day.

"We shall see," she said. "Perhaps I will find it more fun than I expect, with you to show me."

Kon will take advantage of this in the meantime, then. It saves him a lot of pain and punishment. Although that could be fun too.

"I'm about as good as you can get with entering caverns," He may have winked a little. "Trust me, it'll be a blast. You, me, pushing in together, I may even show you my TTK."

"TTK?" Raven repeated with a curious tilt of her head. "What is that?"

Kon held back a gasp. How could someone not know about his TTK? That was practically a CRIME.

"Tactile telekinesis. It's my super awesome power. It gives me super strength, flight, invulnerability, the power to take things apart with a touch, and I can, well, telekinetically touch things," And because he couldn't resist, he had to continue. "I'll be sure to show you why they call me Superboy."

She'd never heard of him before today! Clearly, she needed to be educated.

"I have been curious as to why you share his symbol, and his name too, it seems," Raven said. "You must already know of my powers, if you know of this other Raven, and I would like to know yours."

Raven clearly had much to learn, and who better to teach her the glory of Superboy than the main man himself?

"You could say I'm kinda related to the big guy," He technically did have half his genetics, so he wasn't really lying or anything. "Well yeah, but I haven't gotten to see them...up close and personal. Show you mine, you show me yours?"
