Practical Marksmanship | Session 7 | Fourth Period | 8/20/2010
As each week, the class met in the Danger Shop. Today's class started in what looked like a sporting locker room, complete with chalk board. There was a folding table set up as well, which Price and Ashley stood behind. Price set what looked like a heavy, blue upholstered suitcase on the table.
"This is what you'll be defending today. Your intelligence. But the thing is, it's not enough to just defend this. You'll be trying to capture the opposing force's intelligence as well. It's like a game of capture the flags. With guns. First..." He pulled down a screen in front of the chalk board and flipped off the lights. "A short film."
A film projector then played a short film. When it was over, Price turned back on the lights. "So the idea is, go and grab their suitcase and bring it back here. Their fort is exactly like yours, in fact they're mirror images of one another. How that makes any sense, I don't know, I didn't make this up. Now, the only way you'll manage this is if you all work together. As you'll be facing these fellows."
In from a door strolled nine color-coordinated fellows (though they. Or, well, eight fellows and a person entirely obscured by a rubber suit. They were RED, Reliable Excavation Demolition.
"As you can see, they look like a team," Price said. And they'll act like one, too. But before you all go into battle, I want you all to take the chance to talk with these simulated fellows to get an idea about their strategies, strengths, and weaknesses."
After the class was done with that, the REDs left out the same door. "Now you all suit up for battle," Price said, gesturing at the lockers. The students would find all sorts of weapons they could utilize. "If you find yourself taking fire, you will not be actually hurt. If you take enough fire, though, you will be flagged as deceased and you'll get to come back here to watch your classmates try to manage without you. You'll no longer be able to fire your weapons and the opposing forces will ignore your existence. Even if you all of you but one become flagged, if that person captures the intelligence, you all get A's for the final."
Price smiled. "Now go out there and show them what you all can do. Because I know you all can do this."
[ooc:OCD a-coming up! Open and ready for battle!]
