"Hey guys, we have a lot to cover and not a lot of time."

Her cheeks flush slightly. "Oh, you know... volunteer work, and all that."

Marty's a little surprised. "Really? And you're only what? 17? Sounds like you've had an eventful life. Though that might be a requirement just to be admitted to this nuthouse school."

She grins wryly. "Not quite 17 yet. My dad was in politics... he always thought it was good for me to get involved in things.

And you're a fine one to talk about an eventful life."

Marty gives her a small smile. "Yeah... but it's not a life to be proud of."

"No, but you're putting it behind you now. Clean slate and all that," she says, smiling back at him.

Marty grins. "Clean slates are nice but some parts of your life aren't-" Marty stops himself in mid-sentence

"You know what? You're pretty tired so I'll save the 'Road to Redemption' speech for when you're ready to go to sleep and we don't have all this work to do for parents weekend."
