The library was open, and Jonothon was... busy.

A chipper Kurt bamfed into existence on a bookshelf behind Jono, carrying a large sack filled with all different kinds of candy. "Hey Jonothan!" he shouted excitedly. "I've got --"

Oh.

"OH."

After a two-second stopover in his cabin alcove to stash the sack, Kurt teleported in front of the desk. "Hey," he said sadly, frowning in sympathy. "...Hey."

"No, this just means life isn't FAIR," Kurt grumbled. "What kind of power IS that?!?! It's not like Amara ever gets burnt!" He sighed. "Hey, it could be worse, right? You could be blue and furry."

Kurt sighed. He didn't know what to say, and didn't want to end up sticking his foot in his mouth. "Yeah, but... at least you got the chance, right? And we're never going to have easy lives." He poked idly at one of the books on the desk. "I'm starting to think that maybe God has a sick sense of humor."
