First Aid - Danger Shop, Friday, Period 5 [Week 4]
Hawkeye met the students outside the Danger Shop for today's class. "As you can probably tell from the first workshop, I'm not opposed to a shock factor to get you to pay attention. But I'm not here to make you sick, and during today's class you might be. There's going to be wounds and blood in here that looks, feels and smells about as real as you can get. I'm not pulling any punches because you asked me not to. It's nothing to be ashamed of. A hardened surgeon, a good friend of mine who'd dealt with plenty of blood and organs in his time, saw what violent trauma - especially shrapnel trauma - can do to the human body on his first day in Korea back when it was a war zone. He threw up his breakfast. Chances are you'll do the same and it only makes you human. Or whatever you are if you're not human.
This is what we're going to do. We'll rotate as a group through three activities. I'm going to show you how to treat a puncture wound from a knife, one from a bullet and then we'll go over some basic techniques for immediate on the scene treatment and what you'll need to do if there's no doctor coming any time soon. There are buckets off to the side of the operating room if you need to be sick. As soon as you get in there, make sure you put gloves on. The Danger Shop is a safe environment but blood can carry a lot of diseases and it's a good practice to get into. If you don't want to come inside, that's your choice. I won't hold it against you."

He tapped his watch and for a moment flickered back to his normal-looking self, then turned blue again.
"It's... a rare birth defect?"

Well, not sad-blue, not that he was, she hoped, but the colour blue.
It meant he was being himself! His real self. And that was always the best thing, even though she knew it totally hurt sometimes.
So, yay! Momoko waved and beamed a smile at him.

Knife Wound
Re: Knife Wound
She looked over the 'new' patient, slightly paling at how much blood was being lost as she reached out to try to evaluate the damage.
Bullet Wound
Re: Bullet Wound
She didn't have to deal with guns and bullets back home, but not every world was like hers. Plus, if she was learning how to shoot a gun, not that she ever planned to shoot at someone EVER, then learning how to 'unshoot' was totally necessary and the right thing for a hero to do.
So Momoko stepped forward a bit, raising a freshly gloved and totally not nervous, nope, hand. "I'm totally horrible at sewing, but I think... I think I need to try this once."

Re: Bullet Wound
Something he said made her think, though, and she looked up at Doctor Pierce. "How can I know when it's a whole bullet? I mean, when no one is there to tell me? Would it cause more damage to try to take it out if I don't know?"

She leaned over the hole and, taking a deep breath, reached for the bullet. She was shaking just a bit, so it took a moment. She lost her grip on it once, but finally pulled it out.
She stared at the small blunted and bloody projectile in her grip. It didn't look a thing like the shiny clean bullets she used at the range, and she frowned at it.

"Uhm. I just... sew? Is there a specific stitch I'm supposed to use?"

"Uhm... do I knot it?"
