Gym 102, 7/26

Was that a TV in gym class today? Why yes, yes it was! Because TV watching, as we all know, is one of the healthiest sports one can partake in. True story.

"Today we're gonna be watching ~~meta for~~Rudy," Guy said, pushing the tape--who used a tape anymore?--into the VCR. "It's about a scrawny kid over coming odds to try an' play football."

It was touching, damn it.

"So, sit back and enjoy. Just don't fall asleep."

YOU GO, RUDY.

A movie today sounded like a nice and relaxing change of pace. Jonas settled into his chair to watch.

Quinn could do a movie, though she was a little disappointed not to get the exercise she usually got in gym class. She settled into her seat to see the film.

Movies did tell much about this world and so Beka watched with interest. Even if she'd not have minded the exercise.

Jaime wasn't a big fan of this one anyway. Too... after-school special.

No one accused him of having great film taste.

Besides, he had a headache. And... he wasn't sleeping. He was just... resting his eyes. And the less light he had to deal with the milder the headache. So... not sleeping.

Jaime wasn't sleeping, was he? During class? And had he not even noticed that she was mad at him? She wadded a piece of paper and tossed it at him to get his attention so she could ignore him.

Jaime blinked (not awake, of course! he was already awake!) and looked around for the source of the projectile.

Ah, Momoko. He offered her a little smile through his usual Gym headache.

Momoko didn't smile back, just upped her glare.

Now there was more blinking.

Wait... what? Why the glare? Jaime looked very confused. His eyes grew a bit distant as he tried to think of anything he might have done to earn that from Momoko.

Eh? He couldn't think of a single reason why she'd be mad at him?

She raised an eyebrow, then huffed silently and turned away, even more angry at the idea that he couldn't figure it out.

Maybe it was a Fandom thing? Maybe... maybe he had a doppleganger? Or... something?

Because nothing else came to mind.

Momoko took a moment to cast another glare in his direction... he still couldn't figure out what she was mad at him for? Was Dinah that unimportant to him?

She wadded another piece of paper and threw it at him, a bit harder, hoping it would maybe sting a bit. He was such a jerk!

Jaime saw the wad coming, but was too distracted to dodge. It bounced off his cheek right below his eye.

He looked hurt. Not like the paper had hurt, but because Momoko seemed to be more than a little mad at him, and he had no idea why.

No! She was not going to let him be all cute and hurt-puppy at her about this! Dinah had cried!

He should probably consider himself lucky she didn't have laser eyes.

Considering the glare she was leveling at him? He totally was.

But it wasn't making him look any less confused.

Jaime ducked his head, turning away from Momoko. Because staring at her wasn't helping and he didn't need this on top of his headache. He'd talk to her after class. That would fix things... right?

Another wad of paper was tossed at his head. This one had writing on it.

Don't you ignore me!

Once he got the paper unwadded, Jaime looked down at it and found himself staring at it for nearly a minute. He glanced over at Momoko, looking a bit hurt and worried.

What? he mouthed.

She shook her head, and scribbled some more.

~~You're a jerk!~~

~~I'm not talking to you!~~

~~You'd better have a good explanation!~~

I'm not talking to you!!!

Jaime stared down at the new note for a minute or so.

Then he pushed himself to his feet and quietly headed for the door. He needed to "go to the bathroom". Which really meant he needed to get away from Guy. There was no way he could deal with a Scarab-induced headache on top of... whatever he'd done to make Momoko so angry.

It didn't really occur to him that she was wrong to be upset.

Momoko grumbled under her breath about stupid boys and sank deep into her seat as she watched Jaime leave.

Now she was frustrated as well as mad, and totally not in the mood to watch a film about a stupid sport she didn't care about anyway.

Momoko was not really able to enjoy the film; she'd totally have to apologize later. But she was a bit upset with a certain person in the room. She spent more time glaring at Jaime than even looking at the screen.

Bruce wasn't sure what was with the movies in class today, but at least this one was in English and had some relation to the subject. He was going to take what he could get.

Who is there. Hopefully.

Totally there. And totally tan, and totally wearing a purple hibiscus lei around her neck and a t-shirt that said "I GOT LEI'D AT COMIC-CON 2010."
