Sure Griff could've blown off work this week to hang out with his dad and no one would've blamed him. The thing was, Griff kind of wanted his dad to see all the books.

It was no coincidence the he was a reader given his dorky parents.

He took up his spot on top of the desk and left his dad to wander. "Yeah, so just keep your head outta the restricted area and we'll be good. No use getting sucked in there when you're already dead, right?"

[The OCD was eaten by the vacuum.]

"You know, when you said the collection was 'special,' I didn't guess you meant it would consume people," Robert answered, giving his son a look before he started wandering the stacks.

Griff laughed, paging through a book someone had turned in. Really, the best stuff was in the returns. "I didn't want to witness a freak out."

"There are things I know now that would stop me from freaking out as you so brilliantly put it," his dad teased back, climbing up to pull down an old, dusty volume.

Robert sighed, bringing his book over to the desk. "No, Griffin. It would've been different if we'd found a better way to protect you."
