Dating, Hooking Up and Sex, Class 2, Friday period 3

To say Dean was distracted this week would be like saying the Atlantic was a little wet. But being the teacher meant he couldn't actually blow off class to spend time with his dead mother, so he was present and more or less focused when the class filed in.

"Hi guys," he greeted everyone. "I know that a lot of you are in the middle of freaking out over visits from people who shouldn't be able to visit -- I'm right there with ya, really -- but let's do our best to just buckle down and concentrate for the duration of the class and then we can all get back to our freakouts." He took a deep breath and did his best to take his own advice.

"So last week, we did the introductions and most of you did pretty good imitations of a stoplight," he said, managing a grin. "Which, hopefully, if you get one thing out of this class, it'll be that this stuff is nothing to be embarrassed about.

"To get you started on that, this week we'll be doing what I affectionately call 'The Talk.'

"Now I'm going to assume you all know the very basics, where babies come from, the whole insert tab a into slot b spiel. If not, ask me or one of my TA's and we'll go over those details.

"So you've heard about this sex thing. You know the basics, and you're curious about how that all works, what the rules are, and all that. Certain things are going to vary from situation to situation, but there's some things that are, as far as I'm concerned, always going to be important.

"First off, sex is nothing to be embarrassed about, but at the same time, it's nothing you should ever pressure someone into, or let someone pressure you into. So yeah, no means no, and no is not a dirty word.

"More than that, this is something that requires full disclosure. Make sure everyone is on the same page -- if it's just fun or a symbol for something more or whatever. Best way to avoid awkward conversations later and hurting people you don't mean to. Honesty's the best policy and really, it should be the only one."

Dean grinned. "Beyond that, anything goes. Girl/boy is all great and fun, yeah, but there's nothing wrong with girl/girl or boy/boy as long as everyone's consenting. Two is fun, three or even more can be just as fun. Hell, you can have a lot of fun with just one and your imagination. It's a great cure for boredom, let me tell you.

"As for actual mechanics, basically if it feels good, do it. If it doesn't, don't. Everyone's different and has different hot buttons, part of the fun of sex is finding out your own and your partner's.

"Look, sex is a big thing that's probably new to a lot of you, but it shouldn't be scary or shameful or any of that crap. It should be something fun and pleasurable and awesome. Don't get hung up so much on if you're doing things right or wrong or how everyone else is doing it. If you and your partner(s) are good with it, it's all good."

Dean clapped his hands together. "So assignment. I want everyone to write a list of things they want to try some time with the right person. Everything -- and that includes stuff like holding hands and staring longingly into each other's eyes if that's what floats your boat. It helps to know what you're after, and what you absolutely don't want. You can make a list of that stuff too. I'm not going to make you share what you write with each other or with me unless you want to, this is more to help you get it all straight in your own head." He grinned. "Because next week we'll be talking about how to find someone to do all this stuff with."

Jonas was just going to...listen carefully. He didn't feel the need to blush but his thoughts were slowly going elsewhere to the way the Community had dealt with these feelings and he frowned.

Thank you, Jesus. Sookie had waffled about taking Gran with her to class until she remembered what class she had today. Then she'd assured her that she should definitely stay in the room, get some rest, et cetera.

Because yeah. She'd already gotten this talk at twelve, mostly because Gran was tired of Sookie asking about things she'd seen in people's heads.

The good thing about being a Black Widow was that this was familiar ground. So much of what knotted people up inside was sex or sex-related. Not to mention, the coven had a very sex-positive viewpoint--at least, after a female had her Virgin Night.

The theoreticals, she had down. It was the not-so-theoreticals that she wondered about.

Sookie sent out a little telepathic nudge. She figured Karla probably knew most of this anyway, and she certainly did, so there were more pressing matters to ask.

<< Did you get any visitors? >> she sent expectantly, smiling over at Karla.

Christian was red to his ears and not looking at any of the girls in the class as he scrawled extensive notes.

Luke didn't really get a talk so much as he heard extremely filthy stories about his family from other people, but he basically knew all this and agreed with it. He didn't even have to take notes.

Raven was still pretty much wishing she was anywhere but here. Squirm, squirm.

Jason was so, so, so glad he'd convinced his mother to check out the town while he was in class. He couldn't imagine talking about any of this in front of her.

Class number one had been weird.

Class number two was a little better. And he was in some sort of mood that might facilitate his involvement.

Read: Cloud was feeling airheaded.

Tab a went where?

Sookie made a little list. It included some very basic things that could apply to anyone (kissing topless, losing my virginity, making love on a regular basis after that), but was sprinkled with a few oddly-specific things (experiment with temperature/ice in sensitive places, sex while mentally linked, et cetera.)

Karla had just one thing on her list: get my Virgin Night done and over with so I can make a list that can actually happen before I'm twenty.

She might get back to writing up other things, but for right now, she was just going to glare at it for awhile.

Christian's list began with one thing that -- while not mentioned by Dean -- was key to any experimenting he was going to do in that realm: Fall in love.

At least, he thought it was key.

Below that, he wrote a few fairly routine romantic concepts -- silk sheets, baths, untying a woman's corset slowly, and risking being caught were among them.

Raven just wrote down one thing on her list. Be in love.

She still wasn't sure that it was possible for her to have meaningless sex. No matter how nice it felt. Nope, still not looking at Chuck.

Luke's list was comprised of things your average adventurous teenage boy would have (threesome, sex in public, etc), but there were also some pretty weird demigod-specific things on there that made use of some of the powers he had seen people at camp use.

Look, demigods may have been kinda related but it didn't count as anything weird. Being related through gods was different than usual human cousins. Seriously. Don't look at him like that.

Funny thing, Cloud was actually making an effort there. Why not? It wasn't as if he would ever show that piece of paper to anyone. And sometimes you need to write your thoughts down, plain and simple.

So there was an accomplished-looking Cloud in the class.

Chuck had thought managed to convince his father to stay far, far away from this class, but he had his doubts that Bart would actually listen to him. It had him a bit on edge during class.
