Competitive Cooking - Wednesday, Period 3 [7/14]

Piper was a bit distracted today since her mind was on the dreams she'd been having. So she just got right to it.

"Morning everyone. Today, you'll actually get to cook something," she greeted. "The instructions are simple today. I'd like for you to pair up and make anything you want as long as apples are involved somehow. That's going to be your secret ingredient. Afterward, Angela, Hoshi, and I will judge the results."

She realized that could possibly be a health hazard, and that she was asking a lot of her TAs. "Anyway, if you have any questions, any of us are available to answer them. Now, get to it and have fun!"

She turned the oven on so that it could preheat while they worked and set about gathering the ingredients they'd need for the 'crisp' part of the apple crisp.

White eyes studied him for a long moment.

"I rarely do." It was tiring and it was pointless. She had merely made note to avoid interaction with him and moved on with her life.

Hinata was like that.

"Good," Peter said. "Because half of what I said in that class isn't even my own viewpoint."

He was about halfway through peeling the first apple. "You did a good job TAing that course, actually."

That got a faint smile.

"Was I?" She did not really think so.

"I think so," Peter said. "The teacher was brilliant, which helped."

He finished the apple and started on a second. "I don't think I ever caught where you're from."

Mixing the ingredients together, Hinata shook her head.

"Konohagakure no Sato," she said simply. "A village in a time period analogous to Japan's Feudal era."

Peter paused for a moment, that seemed to ring a bell.

"Same place Ino is from, right?" he asked. "Ninja everywhere?"

"Same place," she confirmed softly, unsurprised by him knowing Ino. Everyone, as far as Hinata was concerned knew or knew of Ino. "Same class there. Where are you from?"

"Boston," Peter simplified. "Massachussets. From about twelve years ago." He finished the second apple and set it down. "Nice place, if you ever need a place to vacation."
