Competitive Cooking - Wednesday, Period 3 [7/14]

Piper was a bit distracted today since her mind was on the dreams she'd been having. So she just got right to it.

"Morning everyone. Today, you'll actually get to cook something," she greeted. "The instructions are simple today. I'd like for you to pair up and make anything you want as long as apples are involved somehow. That's going to be your secret ingredient. Afterward, Angela, Hoshi, and I will judge the results."

She realized that could possibly be a health hazard, and that she was asking a lot of her TAs. "Anyway, if you have any questions, any of us are available to answer them. Now, get to it and have fun!"

She glanced around for a partner, still thinking of what could be made.

Peter tossed an apple back and forth in his hands and headed over to Hinata.

"Know anything about apple crisp?" he asked.

"I know that it tastes delicious?" Which was true! "And, if I recall right, it is not too complicated?"

She could be wrong.

"Because I'm not exactly a baking master," Peter said. "And otherwise my other idea is juicing the apples and mixing it with alcohol and hoping drunk judges love us."

He shook his head. "Not really a good plan."

Tara eyed the apples hungrily as she considered possible recipes. She hadn't had breakfast yet, so anything sounded good.

She hoped her partner would be able to cook.

"Sure!" Dandelion replied happily and then paused to give Rilla a suspicious look. "You're not a Viking are you?"

"No," she said, after a pause that was a shade too long. "Not a good plan. Though I suppose we could have non-alcoholic apple cider in addition to the crisp?"

Hinata felt the need to specify that after his last comment.
