Philosophy classroom, Friday afternoon

After today's somewhat explosive Ethics class, Tara grabs lunch and returns to the classroom, anticipating fallout from various students... and questions from others.

Standing and walking to her desk, Tara grabs her class notebook and flips to Callisto's section, making a quick note. No personal pronouns. A. Revenge possible.

Making herself comfortable in one of the armchairs, Tara finally turns her attention to Callisto. "Does your Master have a concern he wishes you to convey to me?"

"Sir has not send this unworthy one, My Lady." Callisto continues in the same tone. "This unworthy one merely wishes to inform My Lady that she will be attempting to undermine My Lady and the fellow Masters' authority throughout the course of this exercise."

"I'm pleased to hear it, child," Tara replies evenly.

"This unworthy one feels that the exercise will be better served, if her fellow slaves are given the example of how a 'good slave' interacts with their Master." Callisto suddenly relaxes and looks Tara square in the eye. "And lets face it, considering some of the people you marked as slaves, it'll be a bloodbath by the end of the week if they don't learn some of the coping strategies used by people who face something far worse than a bad mark for disobedience."

Tara's smile grows, lighting up her whole face. "Callisto, this unworthy one could not agree more. If you can follow the rules, stay in character as a slave and make it play out your way?" Theatrically, she blows Callisto a kiss. "You may like to suggest to some - or all - of the slaves that they spend some time together. Compare notes." Looking meaningfully at Callisto, she adds, "being a slave doesn't remove your choices."

"I'm already intending to send out my own version of your little handout, would you care for a copy? Also I feel I should warn you now, if I do my job right this may get very nasty emotionally before the end, just as much for the Masters as the slaves, maybe even more so. Hugs and cookies may be required.

"Maybe not, but it does narrow them considerably."

"I'd love a copy, thank you. And yes, you will receive course credit for it. Please remember that there is the potential for this to be a fun experience which is not emotionally nasty for anyone. That being said, placing a student as a slave was not supposed to be a punishment. There is no reason the Masters should have it any easier than the slaves.

And our greatest skill is always to find a way to navigate the available choices to find an outcome we like."

Tara grins. "Hugs and cookies I can do."

"I'll try, but that outcome was a long-shot from the beginning."

Suddenly back in slave-mode Callisto bows. "This unworthy one, is grateful for My Lady's time, she now begs permission to leave your wonderous prescence."

Tara sighs, but responds in kind. "I am pleased you came to me with this, child. You may go."
