Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The recent cold front had been a welcome weather pattern as far as Zoe was concerned, and she was very grateful for how things had turned out today - it was sunny and breezy, and just cool enough that no one would pass out from heat exhaustion. Hopefully.

Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with drinks and food, including an entire table of moddable different ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[OCD is up! Have at it! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Hoshi might have been mingling among the teachers, knowing that she was on the verge of being an adult herself. She stopped and glanced at Piper, having a strange feeling that this new teacher actually resembled some of her former classmates.

After hesitating a moment, she decided to just ask. "Excuse me, but do you have any family members who went to school here?"

Piper turned toward the girl, smiling. "Actually, yeah. I went here as well. But I am gonna guess you probably know my sons from an alternate universe. Chris and Wyatt Halliwell?"

"I do know them!" said Hoshi, chuckling. "They were both in one of the first classes I took in Fandom, actually. My name is Hoshi, by the way. I'm one of the recent graduates who is hanging around for the summer."

"Nice to meet you," Piper said sincerely. "I'm Piper. Congratulations. I'm a recent grad, too, but from college. I'll be teaching a cooking class. No magic involved."

She figured Hoshi knew her family was magical if she knew Chris and Wyatt.

"I approve! It's always good to have a cooking class so the new kids know how not to set the kitchen on fire," said Hoshi, nodding. "I love to cook myself, so I usually try to make sure that I show people how to properly use kitchen appliances."

"This is mostly going to be a competitive cooking class, but I'll definitely be at least teaching some basic kitchen appliance and utensil use as well. You're certainly welcome to sit in one some classes," Piper suggested. "Or if you could use some experience for college, I am looking for a TA."

"I would love to be a TA, actually. It would be a nice way to finish my academic career in Fandom," said Hoshi, smiling. "Competitive cooking? I imagine that could be a lot of fun."

"And possibly a little bit scary," Piper chuckled. "That's why it's being held in the Danger Shop. But anyway, I guess this means you are officially hired."

"The Danger Shop would probably be a good idea, since it has more safety overrides than a real kitchen," agreed Hoshi. "I'd rather deal with fake fires than real ones. And thank you for choosing me as your TA. I'm honored."
absolutesnark: (Adorable)

"I've had experience with a student nearly setting a classroom on fire," Piper admitted. " I don't want to deal with that again. And no problem! It's nice to know others who enjoy cooking."
