Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The recent cold front had been a welcome weather pattern as far as Zoe was concerned, and she was very grateful for how things had turned out today - it was sunny and breezy, and just cool enough that no one would pass out from heat exhaustion. Hopefully.

Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with drinks and food, including an entire table of moddable different ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[OCD is up! Have at it! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Well that really sucks." At least Luke knew what he was getting into, sort of. "At least this place doesn't seem that bad. I've been to worse schools."

"It really does." Which was totally his fault for wanting out of his own problems. But if Cloud had learned something, it was to avoid getting too affected for the negative stuff.

"Have you? I really didn't do much of...school."

"I haven't done much either," Luke admitted. "But what little experience I have had wasn't very good. These people at least seem to be able to handle a little...weirdness. I guess that's the word."

"Not very good?" He wondered what could beat military training. "Yeah, the entire place seems to be based on...weirdness." Cloud wasn't forgetting Aquaman any time soon.

"So, where are you from?"

"Last place I lived was upstate New York," Luke said, though he was loathe to say he was from anywhere. "You?"

The name didn't ring a bell. Not even a tiny one. "Edge...next to what used to be Midgar." And Cloud was pretty sure Luke didn't have the finest idea of where that was. Just like him.

"...We might not even come the same...place."

"That'd be a good guess, yeah," Luke said, looking amused. "I've never even heard of Edge or Midgar."

"And I've never heard of New York, so..."

Cloud tried to put a somewhat friendly face. No need to vent frustrations with the roommate, he guessed.

"Yeah, this place is totally a nexus of weird," Luke decided suddenly. "At least we can be confused together?"

"That would probably makes us weird as well." He wasn't entirely in denial about being weird though.

Cloud nodded. "Best plan I've heard so far."
