Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

The recent cold front had been a welcome weather pattern as far as Zoe was concerned, and she was very grateful for how things had turned out today - it was sunny and breezy, and just cool enough that no one would pass out from heat exhaustion. Hopefully.

Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with drinks and food, including an entire table of ~~moddable~~ different ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.

[OCD is up! Have at it! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"And you're still short. Strange how some things never change," he answered, oddly happy despite the total unfairness that Chuck was still young and attractive.

"I make up for it in other areas," Chuck said smugly. "What the hell are you doing here?"

The smirk was strong as John replied. "Oh you know, teaching the best and brightest Fandom has to offer."

Okay, so he didn't actually expect them to be bright or really give a shit about school - which was why his class was about chilling on the beach.

"Seriously? Wow, they must be desperate," Chuck said. "What is your class on, a step by step course on how to get just-rolled-out-of-bed douchebag hair?"

Seriously, nothing made John feel more at home than someone mocking his hair. "There you go, spoiling the first class for everyone," John sighed. "I shouldn't have to tell you the second week's all about how to let go of daddy's money and be a real person."

"Ah, so you're creating a whole new generation of losers," he said. "I weep for our future."

Of course he did. "Shouldn't you be pleased? More little people to do the dirty work."

"I like my underlings to be a little less annoying than you are," Chuck said. "Just a personal preference, no offense to you and your teaching skills."

"None taken," John said with a smile. "We can't all be Chuck Bass, after all. Some of us feel the need to make our own names."

"Well so long as you know that you'll never measure up to me," he said. "I suppose I'll be able to deal with your presence for a few months."

"What, you're not building an apartment over Caritas to spend your days?" John teased, thinking that would be like death to a guy like Chuck.

"I'll leave decaying here for eternity to people who have no ambition in life, thanks," he said. "But I'll come back to visit and rub how successful I am into other people's faces."

"Hey, my ambition is to not be bored out of my skull so I think Fandom's most likely to meet that need," John retorted, knowing full well he would never ever be successful money-wise like Chuck since he totally rejected his dad's empire. "Also, they don't ever run out of Cheetos here."

These were the things he focused on coming from another galaxy, yes.

"So that's how you got fat," Chuck said, even though he thought John looked pretty good for his age. "That's a shame. You were good looking way back when."

"Thanks, that means so much coming from you," John answered. "How's your boyfriend doing? Haven't seen tall dark and emo around yet today."

"I let him off into the real world yesterday," Chuck said. "He's in New York with his boyfriend, short pasty and annoying."

"Oh what was that kid's name? Dick?" Totally some alternate name for penis. "No, Dick was blond and rich."

"Peter," Chuck said, smiling a little. "Dark haired and self-righteous."

"Oh Peter! I should have known that," John remembered him now. "Amazing how all the similarly minded pair off and run away to college."
