Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I
The recent cold front had been a welcome weather pattern as far as Zoe was concerned, and she was very grateful for how things had turned out today - it was sunny and breezy, and just cool enough that no one would pass out from heat exhaustion. Hopefully.
Beneath the blue and gold streamers and balloons, tables had been set up with drinks and food, including an entire table ofmoddable different ice cream flavors. As always, there was a stack of nametags set down next two signs: one listing the Big Sibling/Little Sibling pairings, and one listing rooms and roommates for the new students.
[OCD is up! Have at it! This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here and here, in an effort to keep browsers from breaking for as long as possible. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
It took a moment before she realized how weird her name had sounded. Almost like it was coming from inside her head. Had her ears popped on the plane? That would be weird, considering her ears were merely a projection like the rest of her body.
"Jonothon?"

"Nice to meet you, Jono," she said, carefully shaking his hand. The bandages were kind of odd too. What the hell was going on?
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
//Yer not going insane, by th'way.// Yes, he'd seen the shake of her head, there. //I can't speak aloud. So yer hearing what I... think at you, more or less.//
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
"So you're reading my mind?"
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
//Not at all,// he replied. //I wouldn't. I can't, at any rate.//
Yes he could. He just absolutely refused to believe it, unless it was completely necessary.
//Just talking. This is my voice, luv, and nothing more.//

Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
//Trust me, this is hardly anything compared to some of th'things you'll run into, around here.//
Jono's voice was totally not a big deal. His face was a different story. And the island itself?
//You'll see soon enough, I suppose. Where are you from, gel?//
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
She was worried about dark reapers and black wings.
"Uh, most recently from Pennsylvania but I mostly grew up in Florida."

Madison had no idea what to make of any of this.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
Jono was kind of preachy sometimes. Ignore that, Madison.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
Which made Ron's decision to send her here make a lot more sense.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
//Fine. I could go on about what's odd around here for days, really, and still never touch on everything at all. There are the gremlins, like I said. They have hallucinogenic venom and it's best not to be bitten by them. And there's the occasional invasion, from whatever random thing decides it wants to overrun the island on any given day of th'week. Once, it was vegetables.//
Just to give her an idea about what to expect, and all.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
"... how do vegetables attack?" she had to ask.

"What kind of powers do you mean?" she asked, focusing on the thing that jumped out at her the most.
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
//Pick something, luv. There are people who can fly, people who can cast spells and light fires and healers and telepaths... I'm certain there are more that I haven't met yet, for that matter. Cor, there's even a group that meets on Wednesdays, just to organize efforts to keep the island safe if you've got powers.//
[Sorry for that lull! LJ ate the notif, and then there were links to grab.]
Re: Meet Your Big/Little Sibling [Summer 2010-2]
Madison wondered if some of those people could help her figure out how to use the reaper powers she allegedly had.
