BWI Airport | Portalocity Lounge | Saturday Morning

Madison was not pleased when she pushed open the door to the lounge with the Fandom High sign on the door. Like it wasn't bad enough that she had to deal with being dead, now Ron decided to send her to some lame summer camp so Kairos and Nakita couldn't find her.

She slumped in one of the chairs near the door. There was a black suitcase decorated with stickers sitting next to her and a dirty yellow and black backpack at her feet. Her eyes were glued to the door in search of any danger that might be incoming - in the form of dark reapers or new classmates.

He...actually needed a moment to avoid chuckling at it because what the fuck?

This place was either terribly funny, or terribly disturbing.

"Um, alright", answered when he was sure he looked appropriately pissed again. "I'll stick to my clothes."

"That sounds like a good plan!" said Aquaman with obvious approval. "As I think others might mind if you took theirs."

Aquaman was fairly sure that the joke to crack that grumpy-face exterior of the spiky haired fellow was right around the next corner!

He just waved a hand in a dismissive manner. All the while he was starting to think if this was some sort of prank television show of sorts. Now it would have been a good time to have the TV experience he had neglected all his life.

"They would be...naked." Naked people was a no-no on his books.

Definitely needed to lay off those chemical hair gels.

"Yes!" Aquaman agreed. "They would be! And we can't have that! Might make things a little uncomfortable."

You don't question the hero's hair! So badass it defies gravity, and wins.

"Yes, a little uncomfortable." Much more than the man clad on tights? He wasn't sure. "Does anyone else dresses like you?" And believe it or not, there was more curiosity than snark on the question.

Which didn't mean there wasn't a healthy deal of snark.

"There's Vice Principal Deadpool," Aquaman offered. "I really should talk to that man about his credentials; I don't think I've heard of him before. But his colors are completely different, and he lacks a great deal of accessories. Of course, he's a masked crusader, so there's not nearly as much need for them. Oh! And Mister Artie is fond of stripes, although his costume seems a bit...thriftier than mine, but I am a founding member of the Justice League of America. I've got appearances to keep up!"

The sheer amount of ridiculousness contained in Aquaman's words was more than enough o ultimately confound Cloud a good deal. Vice Principal Deadpool? Artie? Justice What!?

"I see."

Yes, this was a good moment to back off. Quietly.

"Yes, yes," said Aquaman, nodding happily and driving along. That was the thing with starting a conversation with Aquaman; he could continue it for a very long time, even after the other person had backed away. Or left the room entirely. "I'm sure you'll get a chance to meet and know and enjoy them all. Quite a colorful crowd, but we're like family here at good old Fandom High!"

Oh boy, he isn't going to shut up isn't he?

Cloud just facepalmed. What now? He wasn't conversational, not with a creepy guy that should be taking more attention to the road.

Maybe if he pretended not to hear him...

And no, he truly, truly wasn't. Aquaman, it seemed, was now going to engage in a conversation with the steering wheel as much as with the spiky haired student, going on in details kindly left out for the sake of all people involved. It was a typically rousing, rambling tale about one of Aquaman's many adventures, this one seeming to involve a squid, a bicycle, and an evil plot to send the nation's capital to the planet Mars, that was, of course, foiled in the nick of time by a dynamic duo of superhero proportions.
