Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [7th. Class]
Usually, the students would enter the Danger Shop just to find Faith doing whatever she was doing, keeping to herself in silence until the actual class started. Usually, they would listen to her talking about a self defense fighting style, see her beating a guy without abusing of her Slayer powers, or just being told to fight here and run there.
This time it was different.
As the students entered they would find themselves in a big arena, somehow reminiscent of the roman Colosseum. The difference was that the arena itself was separated in a number of platforms, all of them floating around.
And there was a huge crowd roaring and cheering everyone on the stands.
"Last class kiddos", said Faith, who was dressed like she would dress every day if she didn't have to teach, cracking her knuckles and smirking a little too much. "Today we put on the arena what we learned all this time. You can fight against one of your classmates, against one of the pretty gladiators I've prepared, or against me. However, all bets are off, nobody is holding back here, no hard feelings later." She was still going to hold back, admittedly, but they didn't need to know that.
A number of light circles appeared on the ground, one for each student. "So make your choice and step in." She turned, but stopped, turning her head back with a grin. "And if you don't step in the circle, you'll have to deal with some pretty little pets that will be released in the arena." Suffice to say, she was going to love this class.

[OOC:

Re: The Platforms
Getting a fist dead center on her face without any chance of avoiding it was not so fortunate though. She was also punching harder? Not enough to bruise her, but the attempt was there, loud and clear.
Faith did her best to just follow the motion of the punch and then literally bounce back, leg up again, this time going for Kennedy's chest.
Re: The Platforms
This time Kennedy didn't attempt to dodge out of the way-- she let the kick connect, hoping to time her backwards lean enough to minimize the impact but still put her in a good position to reach in as quickly as she could and grab at Faith's ankle.
Re: The Platforms
And seriously, stop daydreaming, someone is pulling your ankle. But oops, too late, Faith tripped and hit the floor, hard. Everything became messy for a moment.
Re: The Platforms
Kennedy let out a quick bark of surprised laughter; she couldn't believe that had actually worked. "Hey, Faith, you--"
Right. Sparring, and maybe it was a half second too late now, but Kennedy brought one foot up to stomp down on her midsection.
Re: The Platforms
Hey, Faith, you-- And pain. What the hell, Kennedy? Faith did the only thing she could, and unconsciously tried to curl over herself for a second, which was more than enough to pull herself together. She was on the ground, and being stomped by an overly excited Potential. She couldn't stand up without getting hit, and she would possibly get forced back on the ground. Not to mention she was hurting.
Rolling over herself, Faith got on her four, and started to rise slowly. She also knew how to play victim, if needed...
Re: The Platforms
A grin cracked her face. "Unless maybe I'm better than I thought."
She might have just said exactly the wrong thing there...
Re: The Platforms
She then took a step backwards, apparently unfased and slightly bored, and cautious of not getting her feet hold. It was all for the shot. "You had your chance to put a good beating in me there, Kenny, now it's my turn."
Re: The Platforms
"Jesus," she got out between her teeth-- unclenching her jaw wasn't happening any time soon-- in a half-hissed but still distinctly envious tone. She was pretty sure, right about now, that if Faith had wanted her dead she would be, and that actually had her a little scared. "You don't mess around with the Slayer strength."
Still, being stubborn as hell, she was trying to get back to her feet.
It wasn't exactly happening.
Re: The Platforms
"Anything broken? Breathing more or less fine? I'll carry your ass to the infirmary if I must, Kennedy, so you better let me know." Worry and pissed at the same time, Faith was starting to regret fighting her already.
Re: The Platforms
"I'm fine," she bit out sullenly, having caught onto that strain. "Nothing's broken. Pretty sure, anyway."
She'd probably say she was fine even if she had three cracked ribs and a concussion, but in this case, aside from the inevitable bruising and soreness, she really was.
Oh, and the embarrassment. But she'd get over that.
Re: The Platforms
"You are tough, but you are no Slayer, not--" yet, shit, thinkonsomethingreallyreallyfast "--now, not every if you don't control yourself, you hear me?"
Re: The Platforms
She did, however, try to pull away as quickly as she could, intent on proving she was fine, dammit.
"Yeah, well." She shrugged, diffidently, but she couldn't help being a little gleeful too; another asskicking or not, she'd enjoyed that. "It's not like I'm ever going to get a say in whether or not the job comes to me, am I? This isn't something where knowing somebody with the right kind of pull is going to get me what I want. So I gotta do the best I can with what I have. Slayer or not, I want to do this."
Re: The Platforms
"Stay out of trouble for a while. Heal, get healed, I don't know.
...Let me know if you need some extra-curricular training or what-not, I think I'll stay in the island to teach for a little longer." Or a lot longer, she didn't know.
Re: The Platforms
Mmm, ironic statements.
"As goes for that wood thing, 'cause yeah, not my thing." Her eyes lit up at the last part, though. "Yeah? That would rock. I've got a lot of people I can train with, here, but you know how things go down in our world. I'm so up for that."
Re: The Platforms
It seemed like a good time to do it, don't ask. "I know how it goes. I'm planning to visit the mainland on this little vacations, see what can I do there and then come back for good." If Buffy needed her -and she hoped that wouldn't be the case-, then she would do what she must, but for the moment Fandom was where she wanted to stay.
Re: The Platforms
Still, she was persistent enough to offer, "If you need backup on any of that..."
No, Kennedy, that was completely the opposite of the point she was trying to make.
Re: The Platforms
"No." It was definitive, and in a tone that left nothing to refute. Although if she knew Kennedy...She would have said 'not until you are a Slayer' but- she couldn't. Life was a bitch like that.
"...Ugh, maybe, but your Watcher will...eh, screw her?" She'll see if she could get her some lousy vampires. Weak, lousy, stupid vampires. One, or two. And she would watch. And pay attention to everything. Could she really train someone without killing her? "Don't keep your hopes high."
