Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [7th. Class]

Usually, the students would enter the Danger Shop just to find Faith doing whatever she was doing, keeping to herself in silence until the actual class started. Usually, they would listen to her talking about a self defense fighting style, see her beating a guy without abusing of her Slayer powers, or just being told to fight here and run there.

This time it was different.

As the students entered they would find themselves in a big arena, somehow reminiscent of the roman Colosseum. The difference was that the arena itself was separated in a number of platforms, all of them floating around.

And there was a huge crowd roaring and cheering everyone on the stands.

"Last class kiddos", said Faith, who was dressed like she would dress every day if she didn't have to teach, cracking her knuckles and smirking a little too much. "Today we put on the arena what we learned all this time. You can fight against one of your classmates, against one of the pretty gladiators I've prepared, or against me. However, all bets are off, nobody is holding back here, no hard feelings later." She was still going to hold back, admittedly, but they didn't need to know that.

A number of light circles appeared on the ground, one for each student. "So make your choice and step in." She turned, but stopped, turning her head back with a grin. "And if you don't step in the circle, you'll have to deal with some pretty little pets that will be released in the arena." Suffice to say, she was going to love this class.

For the ones that stayed!

Dru was fairly certain she didn't have the strength to deal with a gladiator. Hopefully whatever 'pets' came out would have too many teeth.

Dru would see her teacher up in a podium, waving hello to her as a big, metallic door opened, a number of lizard-men like rampaging on the arena, some unarmed, some wielding big, hard looking clubs.

About five of them seemed to be specially interested in Dru.

Oh crap...

Dru looked about trying to find something to use as a weapon.

[karate class calls soon. AFK for an hour or so]

And apparently Faith saw her, as a number of medieval style weapons seemed to materialize next to her. A broadsword, an axe, a crossbow, a pike ~~and more moddable stuff~~, as well as a little sign that said Pick only one.

Those lizard dudes were pretty close now...

The broadsword looked too heavy, the crossbow was more of a long range weapon, and now wasn't the time to figure out the best way to use a pike.

So the axe it was.

Dru grabbed the axe and immediately turned swinging it at the midsection of the nearest lizard dude.

It was pretty obvious the lizard dude were more quantity than quality, as the one Dru attacked didn't even have the time to react, and ended up in two. Instead of bleeding to death -which would be awesome if there were vampires in her class, what the hell- it just vanished slowly, the other four lizards being absolutely horrified.

"You killed Billy!"

"Billy!

"You shall pay!"

Three of them had surrounded Dru, and now they were weary of the axe, and were circling her slowly, yet getting closer with each step. Until one of the three literally jumped at Dru, the other two waiting for a chance.

Alas, poor computer created Billy. Watching him fade away reminded Dru that this wasn't a real situation, and that more then likely the administration would frown upon a dead student, so she just decided to go for it and have fun.

Being in the midst of a group of circling lizard men wasn't a good place to be. After a few seconds of measuring distances, she dove through the gap between two of the creatures, spinning and slashing the axe towards the back of creature on her right.

Killing a student would be really bad, mind you. Lots and lots of blood involved.

Said creature on her right got a mouthful of axe on...its mouth, actually, as it had tried to bite Dru, but the one at her left did score a nice hit on the girl's side, the remaining two lizard dudes gathering next to him.

"Silly puny girl, we are three and you are one. We will avenge Billy and Jimmy!" And then two of them went to get a hold of Dru.

Dru turned the axe so that the end of the handle was facing outwards and struck one of the lizard guys right in the jaw, before dashing a few feet away to regroup.

Hit and run was doing wonders for Dru; the other lizard dude didn't want to get close to her anymore. "She also got Benny!" Faith didn't have much time to think of better names, apparently.

The other lizard pushed the wimpy one away; this one had a large staff, and apparently was some sort of boss. "I'll show you how to squish a little girl", said as he swung the staff low, aiming for Dru's legs.

She'd anticipated some sort of hit with the staff, it was just a matter of was it going to go high or go low?

Low it was.

Dru jumped straight up, over the the swinging staff, then struck at it with the axe. If she was lucky, he'd be out a weapon.

Scully stomped in, took a deep breath, and set herself for whatever was going to be thrown at her.

Two lizard dudes set their eyes on Scully...and started to argue about who would fight her, right in front of her.

"She's so tiny it won't do for both of us!", exclaimed one.

"You can have the next one", answered the second.

...They weren't really looking at Scully, who would find a nice selection of weapons next to her. A broadsword, an axe, a crossbow, a pike ~~and more moddable stuff~~

Seriously? Seriously?

Scully grabbed the crossbow, loaded it, and aimed for eyes of the first one who'd called her tiny. And grabbed a handful of bolts for re-load for the second.

The second lizard dude turned around, eyes wide opened, and then charged blindly at Scully, arms high, claws showing, and roaring like a mad~~man~~lizard.

One down. One to--

Aaaaah!

Scully backed up madly, and took the second shot at the second lizard, aiming for the throat this time, aim a bit off due to being charged by a giant lizard.

A bit off meaning it hit the lizard dude's shoulder, causing him to miss Scully, although he did manage to bump her. Rather rudely, even. "You killed Kenny!", screamed as he charged again, altough the bolt was slowing him down. "I kill ya!"

"Kenny?" Scully had to say. Running faster, and jumping over Kenny's body to stop and turn to fire again, aiming for the neck this time. "You were going to eat me!"

And this time the bolt flew true, and hit right on the mark, sending the lizard to the floor. "It's in my nature!", said with his dying breath. "My purpose! My reason to exiii"

And he was gone.

And Scully took a breath, then sat down in the arena, disbelieving. Whew.

Yeah Scully, don't mind the confetti falling on you out of no-freaking-where.

Faith was grinning at the distance.

She can handle a gladiator. She can handle a gladiator. If Asuna repeated it enough times maybe it'd come true!

"Yo, Asuna!"

Faith was calling her from her podium. "The gladiators are on the platform...you have about five seconds before I throw a giant beast at you... Wanna stay?" It was only polite to ask.

"Um. I can handle a giant beast!" Asuna said all bluster but then added, "But, I'll just fight a gladiator for the day!"

Sure, Asuna.
