Self Defense and Kickassery for Dummies; Thursday Fifth Period [4th. Class]
As the student arrived the Danger shop, they would find the same mat from the last class. What they would find that wasn't there the last class was the muscular man standing next to Faith, hands crossed on his back, giving a calculating look at the students as they entered. Faith wasn't doing any warming up this time -she had already, but shhh!- and instead was carefully turning her hair into a single braid; carefully because she hadn't done that in ages, and she wanted to get it right. There was no talking from any of them, but once the class was meant to start, Faith took a couple of steps away from the man, and faced the students.
"So, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu- that's Albert Crane by the way."
She turned to the man, and after a quick nod, he charged at Faith, going for a straight punch that hit her in the middle of the face, and then another one, and finally he tried to get a hold of her. The Slayer stumbled back a bit, avoiding the man's attempt to hold her, making a face. "As I was saying", continued as if nothing had happened, while the man closed the distance. "Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and a self-defense system", said as she lifted three fingers, but immediately moved that hand to stop another punch incoming, twisting the man's arm and forcing her way behind him, where she put a hold on him, trying to throw him to the mats, but going for some knee hits on his ribs when it proved to be difficult. "It focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting. The art was derived from the Japanese martial art of Kodokan judo in the early 20th cen--oof" Elbow impact to the ribs, and then the man threw Faith to the mats by throwing himself over him, just to apply a choker hold." Century", finished as she tried to fight the chocker. "Which at the same time was itself-" Okay, he starting retaliating with his knee on her face, which she more or less managed to block, delivering a punch on his face; that's what he got for leaning to close. "-developed from a number of schools of Japanese jujutsu in the 19th century. It promotes, ugh-" Faith managed to free her head wasting no time and rotating, so she was on top of the guy, who raised his legs, trapping her neck and lowering her in a very uncomfortable position. "The principle is that smaller, weaker persons can successfully defend themselves against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique—" A hit on the man's right knee allowed her to free herself, and at the same time give her the time to get a hold on the man's legs, twisting them so he was face first in the ground, where she proceeded the apply her own lock, which looked particularly painful." Where was I? A, right, proper technique, most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person." She was using her legs to choke him, and her arms putting on of the man's in a very, very odd position.
A beat.
And then the man started to hit the mats with his free hand, and lo, he vanished, leaving a panting, pained Faith sitting there for a second, before she stood. "Not sure if you noticed how I was trying not to go all Slayer-y on him and just break his neck; this is a very useful tool in self defense, so I really expect you all have been paying attention." She was so not doing that again.
"Pick a partner, or me, I don't know, and get over the different moves I'll show you. But first you might want to do some warming up, so nobody ends up incapacitated."
Another beat. Some panting. Silence.
"The heck are you waiting for?"
[Wait for the OCD up! I SAID WAIT, lol]
