Flight and Flying [Tuesday June 1]

When the students entered the flight shed, they would notice a sequence of lights spread across the ceiling.

"Meet Drol," Anakin said, waving his hand. "The god of the moon of Iego, who brings destruction to all those who attempt to leave." He snorted. "In reality, Drol was a system of laser emitters programmed to track onto a ship as it hit orbit and blow it out of the sky. For today, you will be piloting a G9 Rigger freighter, which is neither sexy nor particularly speedy, but it's your first time flying in space--at least in this class--so I'm starting you in something that can take a little beating up."

He flashed them a tiny smile. "For you beginners, you will only have to navigate around the asteroids in Iego's atmosphere. People with a little more experience will face off against Drol. Figure out how to disable the system without exploding, please."

The last time he'd been in space, Bobby hadn't even had a ship, just a bubble of ice. He could deal with a lack of sexiness or speed.

Still, it took him a good twenty minutes to get through the course, and the ship totally got quite a bit banged up in the process.

Bruce liked sneaking around, so he was perfectly happy with this route. With strategic weapons fire and decent acceleration, he made it through in about eight and a half minutes.

Oh, there was totally going to be shooting things this week! But Anemone would wait and see if anyone needed help, before taking her turn.

A fluffy white kitten somehow made her way into the flight shed. And adorably she did meow, after pouncing on the trailing edge Anakin's cloak.

"Mew!" Leia said, then decided she was going to attempt to climb up the cloak. That's what it was there for, right? Everything not nailed down was a cat toy.

Bobby was not going to meow adorably, no. But he was going to approach Anakin while hopefully looking suitably apologetic for missing two weeks of class.

"Hey, Professor," he greeted with a nod.

"I just wanted to, uh, apologize for not being in class the last couple weeks," he continued, trying not to fidget.
