Today the Danger Shop was set to a simulation of a carefully-tended forest, if the students listened closely, they could hear the faint sounds of cheerful singing.

"Morning, kids, and welcome to the New York Botanical Gardens," Rick greeted them, cheerfully incongruous in his laser-tag vest. "More specifically, the native Forest, the largest remaining expanse of the woodlands that once covered New York. And today, we're doing some search and destroy."

"Now you may or may not have noticed that we're having a little greenery problem today. Of the talking, singing kind. It just so happens that our petally friends have agreed to help us out in class today. You don't want to know how I swung that." More specifically, Beckett was not going to want to know once that courier arrived at the precinct. "Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to hunt down every single one of the flowers that don't belong here. Like looking for a needle in a haystack full of needle-shaped hay."

"You can work on your own or in groups, and don't worry about actually hurting the flowers, they're only going to play dead when they feel the laser."

Admire the pretty, pretty woods while you get your vests on, or just wonder if you heard Rick right.

Alex had woken up to flowers sprouting from under his pillows and thus was a bit cranky when he arrived to class. Luckily, this class would let him kill flowers so he was already feeling better about the day.

To tell the truth Tahiri had been charmed by the flowers growing everywhere; she was even humming along a little as she geared up.

She thought the exercise was weird, yes, but at least it was simulated. If she'd really been killing flowers, then they'd have a problem on their hands.

Alex was excited about getting to shoot things in the Botanical Gardens. It was just like home. She put on her vest, boggling at the idea of singing/talking flowers.

Oh, Fandom.

Tiptoe through the tulips...then shoot them.

Alex wasn't even going to try and be strategic about this. Nope, he was just going to find the loudest flower and shoot the crap out of them. And when they didn't want to die immediately, he kicked them.

Which, yeah, kicking flowers was not going to help him retain the image he cultivated for himself but it was fun and it made him feel better. Some of these flowers deserved a good kicking especially when they were singing about togetherness and bonding and family love.

Ugh.

Alex didn't really have a plan of attack to start off. She'd make one up as she moved along. It seemed to work for her with everything else, so why change it now?

She took her time going through the gardens and shooting any sentient flower she saw. And hey, she was all for working with a partner if she happened upon anyone along the way.

Be vewy vewy quiet, he's hunting petunias.

Alex was there, wondering how Fandom came up with singing flowers of all things.
