She stops and looks back at him, then returns to his side, "Sir? Are you all right. You just seem so... sad."

She can't help herself. She stretches up and gives him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "I'm sorry that what you see makes you sad."

She turns again and watches him for a moment. She doesn't know quite why she felt the need to do that - maybe just that his weariness and sorrow seemed so great and she had so much happiness within her to share today. She smiled at him again, a little shyly, hoping he hadn't been bothered by it.
