She can't help herself. She stretches up and gives him a gentle kiss on the cheek. "I'm sorry that what you see makes you sad."

She turns again and watches him for a moment. She doesn't know quite why she felt the need to do that - maybe just that his weariness and sorrow seemed so great and she had so much happiness within her to share today. She smiled at him again, a little shyly, hoping he hadn't been bothered by it.
