Blending In, Wednesday, Period 6

Ziva had to admit, she was looking forward to teaching again far more than she'd expected to, so when the students arrived in the Danger Shop, they'd find her looking quite content, even if she was dressed in a very un-Zivalike fashion.

"Good afternoon," she said. "For those of you who are new to the school, my name is Ziva David. You may call me Ziva if you wish, or Ms. David if you insist on formality. Hopefully, all of you are in the right place and are here to learn about blending in when visiting different places and interacting with different cultures. We will be sticking to Earth cultures, because this is where I am from," and no, that never got less strange to have to say, "and while normally the first week is reserved for introductions, I would like to swim right in and get started - with something easy, and a little local."

Once Ziva was done playing with the Danger Shop controls, the students would find themselves in a side room at a large racetrack.

"The Kentucky Derby is a major event that takes place in the southern part of the United States," Ziva said. "Attendees come from all over the world to watch horses worth millions of dollars race around this track. It is the first race of three that take place every spring, so it is very important, because the winner of this race usually becomes the favorite to win the other two races as well. Like many events that take place in the South, there is a kind of dress code to follow," she added, motioning to her dress and the crazy hat. "We will sample some of the local cuisine while we get the introductions out of the way, and then we can watch the race. Once you've all changed into something more appropriate, of course."

"I'm Delirium", said as she ate half her pie portion at once, the hat on her head menacing to fall at any moment.

"I'm older than you all together, ten times...and probably more." This pie was really good! "I'm from...um. Good question; I think I just appeared when it was needed, so there." They could have more pie, right?

"Blending in sounded fun~ But I don't see any blenders." She felt kinda tricked, but the pie was good!

The discovery of the non-blending was not of Del's liking, but she decided to eat pie in order to battle the deception. But Ziva's explanation was pretty good, so for once Del knew what was going on in the classroom. Well, maybe.

"I don't belong, really. And certainly out of place. My place, um, is very messy, so any other place looks to, eh...ordered. "

...

"The pie is really good!"
