Claudia had considered some sort of, like, science attack on the picnic, but ultimately decided that would be crass.

Instead, she was down on the lawn, leaning against a tree and trying to guess which people came from worlds that believed in magic, and which might be hardcore scientists.

Her definition of fun didn't always match other people's.
