The weather was still lovely, of course. And there were all these neat tables of moddable snackies to help break those awkward silences that were so common with teenage get-togethers.

Claire laughed. "Nah, I didn't want to hurt the poor guy's feelings. He seems like a good kid."

She was just going to ignore his other question for the moment.
