So everyone else had, like, dramatic backstories and reasons to show up here and stuff. Which was fine, you know, if you were emotionally in the zone enough to go to those kinda lengths. Denise had just been, you know, chilling with her dad last night watching some hockey guys really pound in on each other - no, seriously, really get into it. One of them broke a rib or something, which was kinda cool.

Then she'd been dropped off at the airport, gotten a ticket stuffed into her hands, and that was that. No reason to get all dramatic and touchy-feely about it.

And now it was Saturday morning and she was on the airport. Sitting around. Chugging water and listening to her discman while watching the kids down the hall, trying to figure out how they were gonna croak. Sure, there was some kind of shuttle supposed to show up, but it wasn't there yet. A girl had to keep herself busy.

She figured the dweebs starting to mill around the terminal were probably classmates or something. Lame.

"We have Bothans," Anakin offered, which wasn't the same thing at all.

"...why do I get the feeling they look like Lady Gaga?"

That reference Anakin knew. (What? "Poker Face" was catchy.) "No, more like overgrown golden retrievers."

It totally was. Not that either of them would admit to listening to it.

Unless a song came on and there was no one else around.

Shut up.

"I think I'll keep cat and bird people, thanks."

"I'm sure we have those around too," Anakin said. "It's a big galaxy."

"See, this is why there need to be more cosmic adventures," Deadpool pointed out. "Hey, maybe that could be the show!"

"Traveling from planet to planet and saving things?" Anakin looked thoughtful. "Could work. Would we have to have an annoying younger character to appeal to the children?"

Because Deadpool was so getting saddled with them, if so.

"Only if they're mocked constantly."

"Or killed off between seasons?"

Not that he'd dreamed of doing that to Ahsoka. Really.

Deadpool gave him a stern look at that. "Oh course not. They need to die during the season so people can see what happens to Scrappy-Doo."

"Ugh," Anakin said. "If he ever shows up to go to school here, we are leaving him in the airport."

"Hello no. We're punting him onto the runway."

"Into a plane. I have excellent aim."

Aww, now he's all looking forward to that.

"You have wacky mind powers to keep him on target."

Anakin grinned. "I do. And I don't get to use them nearly enough these days."

"Maybe on this new batch of kids," Deadpool suggested. Because he was an awesome VP.
