BWI Airport, Portalocity Lounge, Saturday Morning
So everyone else had, like, dramatic backstories and reasons to show up here and stuff. Which was fine, you know, if you were emotionally in the zone enough to go to those kinda lengths. Denise had just been, you know, chilling with her dad last night watching some hockey guys really pound in on each other - no, seriously, really get into it. One of them broke a rib or something, which was kinda cool.
Then she'd been dropped off at the airport, gotten a ticket stuffed into her hands, and that was that. No reason to get all dramatic and touchy-feely about it.
And now it was Saturday morning and she was on the airport. Sitting around. Chugging water and listening to her discman while watching the kids down the hall, trying to figure out how they were gonna croak. Sure, there was some kind of shuttle supposed to show up, but it wasn't there yet. A girl had to keep herself busy.
She figured the dweebs starting to mill around the terminal were probably classmates or something. Lame.
[[wait for the ocd up! ]]

Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
CarawayHeartilly had run away from home at age 16 with only a duffel bag over her shoulder. Well, and a rolling suitcase or two. And some money, but the point was? She had left most of her stuff behind, before accumulating new stuff. She really hated to do all of that over again, was all. So she had probably brought more than she strictly needed, but even Edea couldn't say how long she'd be here, so it was better to be prepared.
Squall was being all manly-man and insisting on carrying most of it, and she'd gotten tired quickly of fighting him about it, so she'd put Angelo on a leash and let him fight with the suitcases.
She was not exactly sure why he needed to come all the way out to her new school before going back again, but he was probably just being protective again. Very sweet of him. She was not going to think about how much she'd miss him.
When she reached the lounge, she found a seat before unclipping Angelo from her leash -- she was too much of a good girl to go wandering off, thankfully, instead sitting by Rinoa's feet and staying alert.
She smiled at the others. They must be her new classmates-to-be! She waved at anyone who glanced, wondering who to approach first.
(all squall-modding done with permission! no, she doesn't realize he's staying, just yet. HELLO PEOPLES!)
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
(Wow, there's a lot of people here.)
He looked the room over appraisingly from behind his bangs, trying to gauge if anyone was dangerous.

Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
As far as he could tell, no Galbadian soldiers had followed them through the portal, and no Estharian soldiers either. They were safe -- for now.
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
There was something really amusing about that girl's "Woo-hoo, we're flying!"
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
(Quistis can handle it.)

Seriously. She was surprised Squall wasn't glaring at the other students, in case they were secret dangerous operatives or something.
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
Some of them might or might not be secret dangerous operatives, but he was pretty sure he could take 'em.
"Trust me," he told her. "Dr. Odine is up to no good. He's also the only expert they've got."

Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
"...Yeah," he answered. "I'll be extra careful the next time I see him."
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
He'd make sure of it.
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
If she had to be a Sorceress, at least she got to tease Squall about it.
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
"Guess," he answered. Because just telling her what he was thinking was WAY too easy.
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
It was both a tease and a challenge.

It seemed the thing to do.

"I like your hair."
Re: Waiting for the Shuttle
Though really? Not her natural hair color.
"Totally born this way!"
Except for the fact it was not.
"I never dyed it under the orders of the secret government agency that I work for!"
That... Okay that might be true. At least in her head.
