"Well, you guys didn't do well enough in the Family Feud a couple weeks ago so there will be no pizza today," Jim said, shooting an apologetic glance at the camera. "But I do have a test for you. I know you probably weren't expecting an actual final from me, but sometimes you need to prove that you can run a tight ship."

"I wrote the whole thing in 20 minutes and I'm not sure people could find it serious if they tried," Jim told the camera. "I think I'm the reason teachers usually need to go to school and get certified."

"Anyway, here's the test. You've been a great class. Good luck and I hope you end up with a job you love."

1) There's a rash of injuries in your office. Your boss is on crutches because he burned his foot on a George Foreman Grill and a coworker suffered a concussion in a car accident while going to your boss's home to bring him into work. How do you spend your day?

a) Find a way to go back in time and volunteer to pick your boss up wile paying special care to make sure you don't drive into a pole like your coworker did.

b) Find ways to protect yourself just in case you're destined to be the next one injured.

c) Be concerned about your concussed coworker and volunteer to take him to the hospital when it becomes clear that, yes, he does need to go to one. Please note that your boss may tag along and try to stick his foot into the MRI machine.

d) Try to ignore all of this and just do your work.

e) None of the above. Please explain.

Mat stared at the question for a while, having no idea what either an MRI or a George Foreman grill were and wondering a bit about the relative foolishness of this boss. Finally he closed his eyes and jabbed his pen at his paper.

C) it was, then.

Bobby chewed on the end of his pen before finally answering b. Anyone in his, uh, workplace who needed a ride to the hospital was better off with Warren. Flight was way safer than ice-sliding.

Angela had actually been excited about a real final. When she saw the first question, though, she was just confused.

D. A George Foreman Grill? What is wrong with you?

Granted, in a few years, her answer would actually not be D.

Jack couldn't drive, so he picked B.

2) A used joint is found in the parking lot of your office park, inspiring one of your coworkers - who is a volunteer sheriff's deputy - to conduct interviews with the staff throughout the day to find out who was using drugs at work. You are not involved with this in any way but will still be called in for an interrogation. What do you do when you're called in?

a) Answer the volunteer sheriff's deputy honestly, showing him the respect that he deserves.

b) Point out that there are other businesses in the office park, and two warehouses full of workers who are fairly open about using recreational drugs and that maybe the investigation might prove more fruitful out of the office.

c) Try to convince your coworker that he's the one who smoked he joint, turning his interrogation of you into an interrogation of him.

d) Try to ignore all of this and just do your work.

e) None of the above. Please explain.

C) again! Though this time it was because Mat rather enjoyed pranks.

Oh, this one was totally c. Especially if the person interrogating him was, say, Scott. Or Hercules. And now Bobby was distracted as he tried to figure out whether Herc even knew what marijuana was.

Trick question!

A and then D. I have nothing to hide.

C, definitely.

3) It's Take Your Daughter to Work Day, a legitimate and nationally recognized office time-waster. This means that you'll have a bunch of kids in the office. Not all of them may be well behaved. How do you handle this?

a) Bribe the kids with candy in hopes of getting them to like you and/or take it easy on you during the day.

b) Befriend the kids and try to get them involved in your work.

c) Treat the kids like forced child labor and make them do your work, or else.

d) Try to ignore all of this and just do your work.

e) None of the above. Please explain.

Mat assumed this was all after checking to make sure none of the children were calling you "father" and yelling at you for not being bloody noble enough or whatever that girl had been blithering on about.

A) Because sugar-addled children are entertaining.

Bobby debated whether multiple answers were allowed, before just deciding the hell with it and picked both a and b. Because bribing them with candy totally counted as befriending them.

D. That day is ridiculous.

Unless of course, they were good for C.

Jack didn't have much--okay, any actual experience with children. Jill was the babysitter. Still, kids liked candy, right, so he was going with A.

4) Your boss is on a business trip and the rest of the office needs a break, so an impromptu Office Olympics is created. Some games include the Coffee Cup Race, Paper Football, Who Can Put the Most M&Ms In Their Mouth, and Flönkerton (a race in which you have boxes of paper secured to your feet).

Come up with an event for the Office Olympics.

Pencil into the Ceiling Toss. Whoever can make the most interesting pattern without poking themselves in the eye wins.

Mat was quite pleased with his contribution.

Well, golf was an Olympic sport now, right?

So Office Golf was totally in.

Angela frowned. Hard.

No.

Water Cooler Snorkeling.

No, Jack didn't know how it would work, either, but it sounded cool, didn't it?

Any last questions for Bobby?

Bobby was completely prepared for any last questions anyone might have.

Well, for a definition of "any" that actually excluded a lot of things. Don't try and ask him about advanced robotics, for example. Unless you want a lecture on how robots will one day make muffins more delicious.

How about for Jim?

Any last thoughts for the camera?

Of course Angela had to find the camera man for this.

"This class has been a complete and total waste of time," she said.

And paused. "No, I take that back. This class has taught me how to avoid future complete and total wastes of time, and it's by remembering answer D."

WOO! LAST DAY OF FAKE SCHOOL!

I WANT THIS CLASS FOREVER.
