Love & Romance, Hollywood Style [Period 4, Class 15]

"All right, it's finals day," Drake said, gleefully rubbing his hands together. "Oh, relax, this is easy. All I want you to do is tell me a love story. It can be epic, it can be tragic, it can be comedic, but make it a true one. And then tell me what Hollywood would do to the story if they made it into a movie. Got it? Go. Oh, and for bonus points, tell me your favorite quote about love."

"So, once upon a time, there was a city, a vigilante, and a cat thief," Dinah said. "The vigilante was the city's protector, there to right wrongs and avenge the death of his parents at the hands of criminals through justice against crazy mobsters and a corrupt police force... and the cat thief was there to get him to lighten up and have fun, and oh yeah, steal diamonds. And jade statues. And bearer bonds. And tease him that he couldn't catch her. Which just made him want to all the more, although whether he was ever going to arrest her or not..." Dinah grinned, then sobered. "And they got together, and sometimes they fought side-by-side against the crazier villains, and sometimes they had huge trust issues because of being on opposite sides of the law. Which eventually made them break up, although they never forgot each other." And Catwoman eventually had a baby she never told Batman about... but no way was Dinah mentioning that. "And in real life, one of the vigilante's enemies killed the cat thief to get revenge on him, and it broke his heart, and he left the city he loved, never to return, after putting the criminal responsible away. If Hollywood got a hold of it, the cat thief would have lived, and retired from her life of crime, and they would have lived happily ever after fighting crime together." She paused. "Unless this was a different type of movie, and they wanted a sequel, in which case I guess she would have disappeared after getting revenge on the guy who killed her, leaving the vigilante to miss her and look for her on every rooftop, and maybe see her again in the next movie."

Maaan. She really preferred the Hollywood version.
