Fraser hadn't ever prepared a final examination so he was fairly sure he'd been too light and far too lenient but he didn't much care. He was confident the students retained the knowledge they needed so he felt no real need to try and make them recite it all back to him. Their true tests would come in real life, practical situations.

"Good day to you all and I hope your week of finals is going well," he said, nodding to them. "Just like all the other classes, we're going to be taking a final as well. It's fairly straightforward but I would like you to work on your own. Once you've finished, you can leave and I wish you good luck on your other finals and a good break. Let's begin."

With that, he passed out the one question final and let the students start working on it.

Okay, it was an opinion question. He could bullshit a bunch of crap if he could remember enough. So, he chose one time period they'd talked about, kept it to the base facts and wrote a fairly straight up, thorough answer to the question.

Once he'd finished, even he was surprised by how accurate and lengthy it was. Apparently, he had better recall than he'd suspected.
