Methos is sitting at the circulation desk reading a stack of printouts. When someone approaches him, he casually closes the folder and places a book atop it. He's relaxed and calm.

"Yes, please." When the door was shut behind them, he turned to face her. "I wanted to apologize to you."

"Apologize?" she asked. Didn't expect that. "For what?"

Methos scrubs his hands over his face. "For being an idiot. For not taking you seriously. If nothing else, it was a remarkably stupid thing to do to make it clear to anyone else that there was a note with your name on it banning them. I just... don't take the possibility of danger from the students very seriously."

"Nobody takes me seriously these days," says Janet irritably, dropping into a chair and slouching back. "It's the bane of my existence. I hate being a teenager."

"It's too late now," says Janet. "Hopefully the Big Bad Wolf doesn't have me in his sights. I left home without my cape and basket today." She takes a sip of her coffee and frowns. "Someone invited him into our dorm room. Gotta do something about that."

Janet gave him an appraising look. "Why on Earth wouldn't you take the possibility of danger from students seriously? You know, after the zombie incursion, I'd think everyone would have reevaluated everyone else by now." She shrugs. "I shouldn't really complain, considering."

"Zombies... are one thing. But... let me put it this way. I'm used to being at the top of my own personal food pyramid. Which isn't to say I'm perfectly invulnerable. I learned to see you... the students as *capable*. Based on the research Parker dug up, I'm having to reevaluate that some of them are capable and dangerous."

"One very messy, very decaying, very library-destroying thing." Janet made a disgusted face.

"The top of your own personal food pyramid?" asked Janet slowly. "Interesting." So are there other people out there like you?

"Capable is good," says Janet, grinning. "Your opinion of the competence of others in general is often low, isn't it?" She sighs. "There are a lot of dangerous students out there. Some of them are good people. Some of them are not so good." She spreads her hands wide. "So what do we do about it? Aside from the new book checkout procedures we're putting into place." And the several syringes full of various types of sedatives which I carry around these days.

Methos winces slightly. "Well, yes. I generally don't think much of other people's abilities. As to what we can do about it... is there anything to be done? Outside of starting a full-scale war with the not-so-good portion of the student population."

Janet snickers at his wince. "Oh, don't worry," she says. "I wasn't criticizing you. I find it's preferable to ask that people prove their capabilities rather than trusting them blindly." Of course, usually the military pre-screens everyone for me.

"I don't know," says Janet, glancing away as she thought. "I meant what I said yesterday. I don't want to pre-judge anyone, but the look in Angelus' eyes--" She pauses. "It's reptilian. I know that look." She looks back at Methos. "There's a difference between not doing anything and being prepared for the worst case scenario but praying it doesn't happen."

"I have to admit, I like your finally balanced sense of caution. And I agree. I believe that makes our next step research. Find out what the possibilities are and prepare for them. I suppose we could do it while attaching all those stickers Zero got."
