Library is open - 10/20

Methos is sitting at the circulation desk reading a stack of printouts. When someone approaches him, he casually closes the folder and places a book atop it. He's relaxed and calm.

"It's illegal to swing an otter in Canada. The law used to be it was illegal to swing a live otter, but they changed it after a student was injured."

John nods and tries not to let his confusion show. "Uh, right. No otter swinging in Canada. I think I can manage that. Uh, can you swing a platypus in Canada?"

Parker puts the books down, and raises a hand, looking fierce. "I, M-to-be-revealed-later Parker, did not smoke this week since last Wednesday, not once. Even though I wanted to very, very badly." She lowered her hand and added, "It helped that O'Neill got me some lovely toys to help with the stress, though." She smirks evilly. "I could demonstrate one on you, later in the dorms...."

John doesn't want to believe her but he does. He digs out his wallet and fishes out two ten dollar bills. He holds them out to her.

"I keep my word," he says.

Some of the sulkiness dissipates as she takes the bills. "And I shall tell anyone who asks that you're a man of honor, Crichton," she says, waving them in front of her face with glee. "Want to bet on my upcoming week? Double or nothing?"

"Well, I *was* going to just say another $20 for another week to prove I can keep on not-smoking... But we could always make it more interesting...." Parker's pout returns for a moment. "And no, I didn't. It came through Jack's Roses, and was anonymous, since it wasn't a threat. Cash. Grrrrr."

"Ooooooo." Parker has to think about this, it has to be good. "I quit smoking *and* drinking for a week, and you, hmmm." She tilts her head back, seeking inspiration. "Hee. I've got it. On Halloween? You let me pick out your costume. If I can't do it? You get the same deal."
