Anemone was Busy.

She was in the midst of writing a very long and detailed letter to Abeni, complete with illustrations of the gremlin invasion, the monkey-ponies, anything that her somewhere-daughter would probably find most delightful. She'd entrust it to the Fandom postal service, like she did with her letters for her other friends that had left, and simply hope for the best.

And she was the Anemone. If the death of hope believed something, then to her, that meant it had to be true. Until told otherwise, she would always believe her letters reached their destinations.

Finish the letter to Beni before class, then maybe some for A.J., Cassandra, River, and the others. Graduation looming was starting to make her nostalgic.

Henry was surprised to look up and notice a visitor there when he looked up from the volume he'd been thumbing through. "Cindy," he grinned. "And coffee. To what do I owe this honor?"

"It's my 'I'm sorry I've been scarce' coffee offering," Cindy answered with a smile. "I feel like I've spent all semester preparing for the end, and yet I'm still scrambling to get things done."

She handed over his coffee and sank down in the chair. "I'm a bit surprised to see the library so quiet. Don't these kids know there are finals coming up?"

"There are?" Henry hadn't paid as much attention to the school calendar as he perhaps should have. "It's only April, isn't it? Did I lose a month somewhere?"

"Next week," Cindy confirmed, blowing on her coffee. "This is the second-to-last week of classes and I think graduation's the, uhhh, first?"

There should really be a faculty meeting about that or something. "This school is setup more like a college than a high school in a lot of ways."

Henry blinked about this several times, mildly concerned by how oblivious he had been. "Wow. Doesn't feel like I've been here that long. Well, maybe that's why they aren't in here -- they're all downloading term papers of the Internet."

Cindy snickered. "I wish them the best of luck with that, at least in my class," she said. "They're supposed to be discussing whether Wendy the Werewolf Stalker is a masculine or feminine journey with citations taken from the show. There's almost certainly a paper about that online, but if there's more than one or two, I'll be highly surprised."

"Wendy the Werewolf Stalker," Henry echoed, trying to place the title. "Oh, with the blonde with the hair? I haven't seen that one. It has a lot to say about masculine journeys?"

He was not, entirely, being a snob; TV was a seizure trigger for him.

And he was a book snob.

"That's what I'm asking them," Cindy said. "Whether Wendy is on a masculine journey, a feminine journey, both, or neither. The lectures have been dense, of course, I'm covering an awful lot in a very short time, but I wanted them to see how literary theories based on The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Descent of Inanna still have relevance today."

"That definitely sounds more like high school than like college," Henry observed, leaning back to put his feet on his desk. "Which goes back to what you were saying."

Cindy shrugged and smiled. "If I can convince them that even Wendy has literary merit, perhaps they won't shrink away like wilting daisies at the notion of reading something with literary merit."
