Horror 101, Monday

Mitchell wasn't... looking quite as collected as usual today. He was leaning against the back of the classroom, and that was that. In the center of the room were a big stack of fairy tale books, most of them European.

"So I gather you're all a bit busy right now," he started, "I thought I'd get something full of horror for the younger ones. And I have fingerpaints. You know."

A beat.

"Encourage your children to write. Or draw. Or do it yourself. Make something scary and show it off. Enjoy the vacation. And remember - this is how most of us start with our horror. As cautionary tales."

Like a child!

It looks like primary school, and it's not like Mitchell is talking much.

Fingerpaints, fairy tale books (The Brothers Grimm feature heavily), pencils and coloured paper. Make use of them.

Or your own. Mitchell's not judging.

Who is looking a bit skittish today.

Kendra made a beeline right for the fingerpaints.

"Look Mommy, colors!"

"Yes, sweetie," Chloe said. "Paints."

"I want to color!"

"Yes, Kendra and let's try not yelling inside, ok?"

"I'mma gonna make hair like my mommy's!"

Chloe may have whimpered at that.

Yes, Chloe was here... and still looking both shell-shocked and sleep deficient.

Alex Karev

Since Effy had taken Joshua last night, Alex was only dealing with Cara. Dealing being the best possible word to say that he was bitching at Cara just as much as she was bitching at him.

It was a tight family unit, this one. Alex briefly wondered where St John was and hoped that the little jumper wasn't off getting into trouble but the more pressing matter was dealing with two of his kids in the same class today.

Tony Foster

"This is below me," Cara said, shaking her head. "I won't do it. Where's Mummy? I want her to entertain me."

Alex very nearly threw some paint at her. Very nearly.

Jack Priest (with Annika Priest + Felix de Ulloa)

Kendra came running up to Mitchell and threw her arms around his legs. "Hi Mr. Teacher Mitchell Person!"

"They're for babies," Annika agreed, also looking for their mother. "Only little kids fingerpaint."

Effy Stonem (with Joshua Karev)

"Exactly," Cara agreed, giving Alex a look of smugness. "And I don't want to get my fingers dirty. That's what Daddy's are for. Mummy says."

"Whoa!"

Mitchell... didn't quite topple. He might have exaggerated his sway at her glomping a little, though. "Strong grip you've got. And who might you be?"

Vampire-related issues or not, Mitchell was a total pushover for kids.

Alex Russo

Alex was here, minus children.

While Annika busied herself whining (she seemed to be going for a medal in the activity), Felix settled in with a book of fairytales.

"You didn't want anything else to read?" Jack asked, watching the boy carefully.

He shook his head. "I like these. They're true. And you like it when I want to read in English."

"...all right," Jack said, wondering what the boy meant by 'true' but a little afraid to ask. He'd doodle idly while the boy read.

She giggled up at him. "I'm Kendra Saunders!"
