Horror 101, Monday

Mitchell wasn't... looking quite as collected as usual today. He was leaning against the back of the classroom, and that was that. In the center of the room were a big stack of fairy tale books, most of them European.

"So I gather you're all a bit busy right now," he started, "I thought I'd get something full of horror for the younger ones. And I have fingerpaints. You know."

A beat.

"Encourage your children to write. Or draw. Or do it yourself. Make something scary and show it off. Enjoy the vacation. And remember - this is how most of us start with our horror. As cautionary tales."

[[ wait for the ocd up! ]]

"I only got her Saturday," Felix said, as if he was speaking of a particularly troublesome puppy. "I hope Jack and Sebastien don't decide I need a real sister at home."

Or, worse, that she wouldn't follow him home. Perish the thought.

"That's what Jack says," Felix noted.

He was withholding judgment about girls -- though the comment made him realize he hadn't introduced himself. "And yes, I am. My name is Felix de Ulloa."

"I won't," Felix promised, just before Jack wandered over to intervene and retrieve his child. Annika was busy with Emma, and he was getting a bit lonely.

"What were you two talking about?" he asked, curious.

"About how Annika's wrong but I shouldn't listen to her too much," Felix supplied.

Jack shrugged a little. "They aren't exactly taking to each other," he told Mitchell.
