Gabrielle had escaped unscathed from the island's latest bout of unexpected insanity; seeing how many people, including her roommate, hadn't meant she felt pretty lucky about that. Not that she didn't think she could handle it just fine should she ever get saddled with an unexpected child of hers of improbable parentage who'd apparently grown up way too fast. (Which struck her as a uniquely Fandom sort of thing even she would never have to worry about at home. Gabrielle was a little naive, which was a surprise to no one but her.)
The outbreak of kids, though, meant that in her downtime between trips to the stacks and other errands she was thinking of ways to tell stories of her adventures with Xena in a more kid-friendly way.
. . . not that they weren't kid-friendly, just . . . um . . . okay, she wasn't really sure.
