Business 102: Friday, Period 3, Class 13

"Well, today's class was going to be a lesson on taking business seriously for once," Jim told the class when the bell rang. "But it's Prom day, so you don't want to, and I've been playing too much Family Feud on Facebook, so I don't want to. So you know what? It's time to play the Family Feud!"

And with that, Jim pointed to the dry erase board which had the Family Feud board very carefully drawn on it. Yes, somebody got in a little early today.

"All of these answers were taken from a strategy guide for a version of the Feud on the Super Nintendo, which some of you might have heard of when you were babies. You're playing as a team for a pizza party during our final in a couple weeks. Let's get started."

"Office work."

Angela had been in this class too long. And yes she was being sarcastic.

"Office work. I can see why you'd say that," Jim said, shooting an amused look at the camera. "Let's see what the survey says. Show me... office work!"

"ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR." Yes, Jim made the strike noise. "I'm sorry, that wasn't up on the board. Your team still has two strikes remaining."

Jack jumped in. "Sports! Is it sports?"
This is Jack trying to ignore any potential glaring from any blonde teammates.

Angela's glare was focused on the professor and only on the professor. She didn't really care about the other students.

"Good round, good round. Now, we asked one hundred people this: Name an occupation whose workers deal mostly with strangers."

Angela felt weird not raising her hand. Really weird. "Customer service."

"That sounds like a good one. Customer service. Survey says..." Jim paused for a moment before again going, "ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm sorry, Angela. It sounded good to me, but it's a pretty old survey."

"But...!" She stared, open-mouthed, then pursed her lips and folded her rms. This game was stupid anyway.

"In this round, all point values are doubled. Name something office workers forget to turn off at the end of the day."

"Their brains!" Mat offered.

Mat's pre-Industrial revolution world was really working against him here.

"Funny answer, but I'm not sure about it. Show me.... their brains!" Jim said. "ERRRRRRRRRRRRR. Sorry, that's strike one."

"We're looking for a total of four hundred points to get to the pizza party. Point values this round are tripled. We surveyed one hundred people: Name a job in which people wear white hats or caps."

"Those people who open doors at hotels!" Mat replied.

It was good he didn't have to type that out in thirty seconds.

"I think you're talking about a doorman," Jim said. "Survey says... ERRRRRRRRRR. Sorry, Mat, but those people who open doors are usually dressed in red."

Win or lose, Jim wanted to play Fast Money. He just needed one volunteer ~~to ping into the thread and give answers~~.

"Let's have our first contestant for Fast Money. We're looking for the top answers. 20 seconds on the clock, your time will start when I finish the first question."

Jim then read the following questions as the student gave their answers.

Name a word or phrase used in basketball
Name something you'd find at the bottom of a woman's purse
Name a kind of engineer
Name something that gets passed around the office
Name an occupation whose people have big egos

And now Jim needed a second volunteer ~~to ping into this thread and give different answers~~.

"And now our second contestant, who was not listening during the first stab at Fast Money. You'll get the same five questions. We're looking for the top answers. If you repeat an answer that was given before, I'll make this noise: ERR ERR, and you'll have to give another answer. 25 seconds on the clock, your time will start when I finish the first question."
