Shop Class #2

As the students walk in, Mac is busy tinkering with a remote control car. He looks up and smiles and gestures to...

Surrounding the room are a series of small bank vaults.

"Today kids we are going to see how you guys do pulling a houdini. You are all going to be tied up with rope and locked in a bank vault that is currently under constuction. Your goal is to get out of the ropes and break out of the vault. If you wish to partner up with someone you may, or you can work on your own."

Each of the vaults have:
safety deposit boxes - filled with typical stuff you would find there
An oxygen tank
A toolbox with your standard tools
A drill ((Not able to penetrate vault door, walls or lock. Can puncture safety deposit box locks))
A chair
((No power tools available. No cutting torches or welding equipment feel free to add anything you might find in a bank vault))
Of course you will have your virtual Swiss Army Knife and Duct tape with you.

For next Tuesday, you will be required to make a homemade smokescreen to use as a means to escape detection. Please make a list of the items you require and we will replicate it here in the Danger Room Shop.

Sam? I want you to come up with an in-class assignment for next Thursday.

Kitty? Please arrange a time to work with Cally to train her on to use the Danger Room Shop Technology.

Open Shop/Office Hours are here today from 12-4. ((Please post in the appropriate response below.))

Edward blinks several times, staring at the teacher and wonders what, exactly, he's gotten himself into here. At least this class is interesting.

The being tied up part is easily taken care of, and he doesn't even have to take his arm off this time. Edward dropps the pieces of rope in the middle of the vault and begins inspecting the oxygen tank.

"Highly explosive, pure oxygen," Edward mutters, more to himself. "The question is, how can I make it explode?" He sits back down on the chair and frowns at the tank, which he has propped against the vault door. "Even if I can make a spark, how do I get it to transmit to the oxygen without being right next to the tank?"

Edward scowls, rocking in the chair for a moment. Then he glances down at the chair. Wait. The chair is made of wood. If he can set the chair on fire, beside the tank, that might give him enough time to get to the other side of the vault.

Getting up, Edward smashes the chair into pieces quickly, and makes a pile of wood around the oxygen tank. "Now, just need to figure out a way to make a spark, catch the wood on fire. Dammit, why haven't I swiped a pair of Mustang's gloves yet?"

Edward sorts through the tool box, frowning all the while. Tools were not his specialty, so several of them he couldn't even begin to figure out a name for. He scowls at the wrench, and frowns more. He's very tempted to just wing the hammer at the oxygen tank and hope for the best.
